MARKET WATCH

Cowboy,

I wish the herd would get worried, then I would relax.
Maybe you are the herd more than you think. The talking heads are confusing you. The oil is down and the market is going with it. Oh my!!! The world is going to end. Everytime oil goes up the market is supposed to be worried that is what the traders want. Now Monday in my humble opinion which isn't worth the ink it is being printed with. It doesn't matter what oil does cause the traders are going to buy in cheap and the market will rally or they will set another day and won't let the bull out of the chute. If your close to a tv it is almost hilarious the talking heads are all busting a gut because oil has dropped 5 days and now the market is dropping what the heck is that!! LOL!! Mean while as of today I am sitting pretty on about a 1.3% gain in one day with the trade I made. Now not saying the S fund is going to go up I don't know that but I am happy with today. I hope it holds come on go that 8 seconds! I mean till close!

My favorite rodeo event, not professional, my son was a bronco and bull rider, professional, is nanny slamming. Just love watching those girls and their goats.

Oil you say, Cowboy. Well, oil will go to $38 by Sept. Between now and then, the market will continue to do what it has always done, UP/DOWN/UP/DOWN. Like Kenny Rogers says in his song the Gambler, " You have to know when to holdem and know when to foldem" !!!!!!!!!!

Do I know anything, 'NO'!!! I'm just as dumb as the next market player, but oh how I love being a part of the game, gambling that is, and the market is the biggest game in town.!!!!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend and may next week be kind no matter where you place your bets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

After today, it will be "ACES" :^:^:^:^. We are at the foot of the hill and ready to climb to the top:oo:u:oo. New lows are 3:1 over new highs. Volumn is below normal. The cowboys will start to have trouble riding the bulls. The bulls will prove to bedominantfor the near term.

The cowboy doesn't have a problem with the bull, it's those darn four horses that somebody keeps trying to get broke to ride all at the same time. I think someone refers to them as the four horsemen terrorizing a village but it is actually one cowboy that just got in off the range and has been partying ever since. Until someone is able to gun him down we'll continue to see the voltility. When ever the market creeps up he is usually sleeping it off at that time then rides like h--- to town because of the headache. :^

Rumor just in, lone cowboy found hog tied, tared and feathered. Now if we can get sheriff Greenspan to lay low tomorrow and not show hisugly side, you know he owes me, maybe I should call in my marker on him, we'll do just fine.

I don't think the sheriff is going to shake anything too much at this time. We had a low volumn day and market really never moved much so hopefully were going to get the bull back in the chute after a little R&R. I think the I fund may of went up today since it goofed off on Friday but will have to wait and see.

Having been the market since before the 87 crash, one thing I watch carefully is what is happening with oil.

When oil price rises of this magnitude ripple through the economy, it is vey bad for stocks. It still will take weeks to a few months for all the implications of $50+ a barrel oil to ripple through the economy. So I am VERY concerned about the next 30 to 60 days in stocks. And I am not one to easily be concered- I've been 100% in C,S,and I for two years. But am ready to pull a lot off the table right now if the signs turn south.

I agree, James, just keep an eye on those lows for the year. Most of the indiceshave come to averge of resistance at the top and support at the bottom so we need to break out to one side or the other. I'm stillintermediate term bullish, but that may not last too long. Fed meets again the first week of May I believe. Or there bouts.

Good luck,

M_M

Today could very well be one of those 100 pt plus moves in the DOW. Around a 50 point drop going into the afternoon with a remarkable turn around later in the day to finish about 50 points up. We have a situationwhere the bulls are just waiting for the shute door to open wide and a drop this morning may just do that. The news out today about the trade balance will send the remaining herd under the grandstands only to watch in disbelief as the bulls come out for a party. All I hear from most is gloom & doom, but in the back ground I hear the bulls just a snorting. As always, it's your money, what do you think the bulls snorting could mean.

Cowboy, I heard your song last night, something about save a bull ride a cowboy on the CMT awards show, I think.

"Save a Bull, Ride a Cowboy" , yep heard that one. What these youngbands don't come up with. I find few that will risk enough to ride with this cowboy. I think you might be right the scare day is today to shake things out. All markets are still trending down and if there is not a move soon we may be in for a long dry summer. I fundis trending down alsoand if your in it it will hit you today or tomorrow. This bull may be cranky and not go down the chute and out the gate especially with the rack he has on his head. They have been known to tear the chute up!

Cowboy, you may be right. I've seen the best bulls fall and stumble out of the shute and I've seen them just be onnery as all heck and just act out in the shute. We've had a double bottom recently and looks like a triple if it holds. If it holds we are on our way to the finals, but if not, the slop may just have started. Like I've always said, its a gamble knowing when to holden and knowing when to walk away. As always, best of luck to all.

OK, for those watching this thread, here are my bottom figures of support. If they hold, we should move up from here, it may just take a while.

DOW - 10,378

NASDAQ - 1,975

S&P 500 - 1,169

The longer we stay in the trading range we have been in, the bigger the bull move will be when it happens, either up or down.

So far so good. Even with the chargesof fraudulent and improper trading that was released a few minutes ago, the Nasdaq and S&P 500 are holding just above my support line and the Dow, even though just below, is holding up better than expected with this untimely news. Waiting now for the sheriff to speak this afternoon, Greenspan that is.

Big swing happening as the Sheriff says inflation is not a big concern!!!! They are like sheep in a flock!!! It looks like the bull is out the gate and Cowboy maybe setting pretty as the spurs fly!!!! This bull is going to give a buck or two!

The bulls are starting to roar. Hang on for the full 8 seconds. If we can get some positive earnings over the next couple of weeks, and I think we will, and if the price of oil continues to decline, which I think it will, it should be a nice spinning ride and hopefully not too many bucks, just enough to make the ride interesting and a higher score.

Can you hear the bulls snorting now???????? I'm going to ride um for the full8 seconds and then some. I'll probably spur them every now and then. Once I reach the 10 second mark I'm going to bail outandlet them recover in the pasture for a couple of 2 or 3 months. As always, the best of luck to you. My advice to all who may be reading this is' "If you can't stand the pain, then stay out of the arena".

When my son first starting riding bulls I took him to a bull riding school. The one point that was stated over and over was that if you ride bulls you will get hurt, not that you might, but that you would. The only question was how bad you would get hurt. It was stressed that you must keep your mind and body in shape if you wanted to survive on the bull riding circuit. I like to compare bull riding to playing the markets. Just as in bull riding, in playing the markets youwill get hurt at some time, how bad depends on how well you havedone your homework. As with everything else in life of any importance, you must take responsibility for your actions. Its nice to read what others are saying and doing, but to enjoy both the highs and lows of investing, make your own decisions. In my previous post, when I was talking about riding the bull for 8 seconds, it should be translated to mean days, as I feel that stocks will rise over the next week or so during earnings reports, but before everyone else gets out I want to first. Normally, May, June, July & August are weak months and not worth the hassel to try and play the markets. During that time I will probably play the I fund on my expectations as to what the dollar is doing. All of this could change as I try to stay flexible. It is better to be lucky than good!!!!!!

As always, the best of luck to you in your investments.
