Well, i want to take my no vote back after thinking about it some more. I like the likes now, they remind me of this book book by nathaniel hawthorne i red once. You can really get a quick feel for people just by checking their likes.

Kind of like when you would go talk to the girls smoking out back of the gym, you could be pretty sure one of them would like you. But if she don't wave and smile at you in church then you probably ain't gonna get liked.

I know, soooo 1980's right? Back when i was a kid on the internet i forget what they called it but it rhymed with host poor.

Oh vanna, pick me a letter.

I think it is a good idea.

I have given 0 likes. Likes make me think of face book which, like fiber, makes me...sad.

I also do not give rep as much as I should.

Perhaps Tom can put the rep icon near the like link. Like of course is more familiar to the younger members. It is better to be liked than have a rep?

I personally view the reputation as more of a technical answer to a technical question, that demonstrates knowledge, were the like button for me is more like "that was cool".

I like the new posting of both. However, I am wondering if anyone uses the reputations anymore. It seems that the like button is easier to use. If this is true then the green bars will soon lose their meaning as the likes recieved gives the same information...sort of. You can already see that the folks that have a lot of reputation bars are the same ones that have a lot of likes recieved. I also like the likes given...I had no idea how many I had given, so it is kind of cool to watch that number grow. Could anyone spare a like given for this post? :cheesy:

The "Likes" Received / Given counts are always in each member's profile, but as you may have noticed, I have added them next to the avatars in each members' posts. What do you think of the new display?
