Beautiful, absolutely stunning. I lived in ferndale,wa from 92'-94' and from our second story balcony to the left we could see mount baker which was abot 30 miles away, and to the right we could see the ocean, which up there the water is like a sheet of glass sometimes because of the islands. I have lived in guatemala also, but NOTHING ever compared to northeastern wa state. Hands down bar none my favorite place in the world. :)

We still have good friends that live in Ferndale. That pocket near the US/Canada border is a unique area.
You will like this photo showing the context of the Lookout. It will be on the National Register of Historic Places soon. My friend adopted it after he found out it had no caretaker and was in peril of being torn down due to dangers of disrepair.
The last 3 miles is a steep hike! 4300' vertical overall in 8 miles if I remember right. It is open first come, first serve year round.

The wife and I took an Alaskan tour/cruise with Princess Cruise Lines in May of 2007. This was taken from the cruise ship sailing the inner passage just before we got to the College Fjord. I have a few more pictures but they are too large to attach.

Always wanted to do that...

nasa - Open "paint" then file > open and navigate to the pic.

Then image > stretch/skew. Use the percentages and make sure the horizontal and vertical percentages are reduced by the same amount or the image will be stretched or skewed. :D

File > save as...:)

Nasa- nice! where was that taken?

Cool!

A couple of my favorites:
This one is from a friend who sponsors this Fire Lookout Tower north of Seattle, West of Mt Baker. Lookout Mtn. Lookout.
We were there in an awesome thunderstorm and lightning hit so close you could hear it sizzle.
This is a pic one of his friends took-

The incredible pictures from the edge of space - taken with a £30 digital camera attached to a balloon

yeah, nothing like that to remind you how trivial some things are, we're not always in control, and we're not always the smartest ones on the block, definately not the most patient, but often lucky, it's good to get the heart beating sometimes, beauty everywhere if you know what to look for and are aware of our own insignificance.

Love the topography, BC, big sky, everything. Spent my fair share of time in similar, doing somewhat similar. Had curious young buck pronghorn snort behind me, make me jump. 50 ft away.

and he was gone faster than a cadillac with the keys left in it downtown, i never could have justified a shot if it was the rifle instead of the camera ...

seen him before, elusive, but i'm the giving type, shared the experience with a few others, 6 weeks later when the season was open i got beat to the kill, there's some fences i can't cross, got some of the jerky though, worthy warrior ... he had the drop on me ... just waiting for his chance, like we all are.

walked a few steps off the other side of the pickup for the shot, and i notice a couple of odd sticks move out of the corner of my eye, maybe another 100 yds from where i've been most of the morning, he hunched up as soon as i reacted ...

son of a bitch was watching me the whole while, laying in the weeds, instantly exhilarating, we both were in flight or fight mode ...

three part story here,

out doing field work ... climbing, measuring, weighing, testing, compliance type stuff ... beating around well over an hour ... only soul around for miles i thought, but i was being watched the whole time, finished up and walked back maybe 100 yds to the half section where the outfit was parked.

took a quick dinner break and thought to myself, unusually wet year, never see this in september out here, and such big sky, gotta get a picture ...

two of my favorite shapes, circle and cone, notice the dark shadow on the bale completes the lighted crescent of the moon.

my pic, not my private property, if i hit the lotto i'd buy the place, there is good magic there, you can feel it in your sole when you step there, connected, above and below.

but i would have to start buying lotto tickets first, and i'm more of a sure thing guy, that ain't gonna happen, what is meant to be will be.

i love every chance i get to be there just the same, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Your problem could have been, not leaving a space in between the last word or character in your post and the attachment, that will happen sometimes if you don't.;)
