Lakebound's Account Talk

I've been a member here for a little while and failed to heed Rule #2 about starting my own account talk thread so, here goes!

As my signature currently states, I am close to retirement and have been contributing as much as possible to my TSP account for the last 21 years that I have been with DOJ. I admit to be a complete novice at trading and understanding 50 DMA's and the like. But, I am a premium member and enjoy reading the commentary and advice given here.

Currently, I was one of those who "bailed" out to G fund earlier last week. With 2 IFT's for March 2015, I'm pleased with where I am at the moment.

Regards,

Welcome Lakebound, we bailed out the same day. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes.

Agreed! My decision was more luck than anything. Of course, next week could prove to make us very sorry to be sitting on the curb in G fund too.

My finger is on the button, but I have to see a real confirmed turn around before I jump back in, this drop may have legs and have small jumps trying to sucker Dumb Money back into the Market. I usually am late getting back in on a turn around and they usually go up to fast to catch, for me.

I believe that it is also important to factor in where a person is in life or career. Some of us are close to retirement, others are retired while others are just starting out.

So with that said, what's prudent for me may not work for you or the other way round.

That's very true, I am retired and tend to be more frugal than those just starting and those close to retirement.

As crazy as it sounds, I am back with the bulls today and am taking a chance on tomorrow for a bounce! 1 IFT to go for March for a return trip to G if and when we need to. Man, I hope I don't regret joining back with bulls again! I was feeling soooooo smart this last week.

And I am the dumber money,

Frank

Good luck! You made a good call to get out. If your timing is right this time, you will probably be in the top 3 on the autotracker by the end of the week!

Let's all hope that the W4500 goes way up for all of our sake. I did get lucky getting out but, I am a complete novice. I really felt cold and lonely sitting on the curb with the bears because as you know, bears don't share and bulls run together.
Besides, "retirement be damned" I want a coffee cup!

Okay, top of the AutoTracker heap after the close today and just as surprised as anyone to be honest. I still call beginner's luck when I moved back to G fund for a few days last week. I have been trying to learn how to read and understand Candlestick charts today but remain confident in the Premium Service that I am a part of. I am very grateful for everything that I have been learning here.

All I can say is "Wow". I'm almost afraid to hear the opening bell tomorrow.
