KevinD's Account Talk

Birch,
If your correct I will have met my retirement goals a few years early. But I like the way you think. BIG:D

I see $10 trillion in liquidity and an exhaustion from sellers. We may only have 5,000 hedge funds left in the business but they will be buyers. There is another $545 billion available in private stimulus if the government cuts back on repatriation funds from US subsidiaries located overseas.

Top 12 year to date and their February moves. My dumb @ss would be up there with them if I wasn't such a pansy... :D
I moved in on the 4th and got scared and moved back out on the 5th. What a maroon!

Ripper is currently on top!

FWIW--this morning, I moved from 100% G fund to 50% I, 25% S, and 25% C.

Now, I have a couple theories and they are why I bought more stocks today.

Moving into the C Fund, 100%.

I'll probably ride this train a little while(maybe).

felixthecat is number 6!

Da Fireant moved in on Mar 2 and slowly moved back to safety.

350 made 2 forward moves...

Went 100% S fund.

clester moved in on Mar 4.

I went 100% S Fund COB - and decided to wait to post it...

100% S. Had to decide early. Closing the airplane door.
A lamb to the slaughter.

I jumped in. 40/20/40 - C/S/I. Looking just to get a 2% - 3% pop for the rest of the week then sit my butt back on the sidelines.

I know. I only realized what was happening with the markets around September and started trying to figure it all out around November. I got lucky on my first try and made a little $ with an IFT in December which was probably the worst thing that could have happened. It's been downhill ever since...

I'll be fine. Thanks for the drive by.

Kevin - the more I get to know you the more I realize what a decent guy you really are.

We've all made a lot of bad moves over the years and I probably came in about LAST PLACE in 2008.

If we could play - in hindsight - we'd all be major winners and of couse I'd have stayed 100% High Risk throughout this Rally.

THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS NOT YOU - IT'S THE BULLS*** 2 IFTs

Your move into HIGH RISK took courage - especially in light of 1 -2/09. This was a very Terrible Year up to that point. You went to safety when it looked like a guarantee that the BEAR was going to take all of us a whole lot further down. SO YOU STOVE TO LIMIT YOUR LOSSES - AND THAT'S ALWAYS A GOOD THING.

Anyway - I'd love to see ya at least where I am and hope ya get there. But don't be too hard on yourself because it's NOT YOU it's one of the worst Markets ever.

GL - we'll get a few more chances in the months to come

RESOLUTION!

From this point forward, all posts from this user account will be positive in nature.

I've been doing the <1% thing since my SNAFU on Mar4/5...I just haven't been posting them. So far, between that and my contribution last pay day, I've made up about a quarter of my losses.

Come on April! :)

Hmmmm ! Maybe I should go "Pay-Per-View"
Just joking, your post makes the effort all
worth while to me. ;)

I like it ! I'm gonna share it on my thread ! Thanks !;)
I sound like an old fogey but... I remember about 10 years ago, if you said this exact sentence to me, or I read it on a piece of paper, I would have either guessed you were a drug user or you were one brick short of a load. My how things have changed... and I still consider myself young.

(LoL) Nothings changed, I'm a few bricks short of a load, there's a few
cards missing from my deck, a few shingles missing from my roof, AND
a few hairs missing from my head !

Heres what I've been doing the past few weeks to help myself learn and better understand whats going on in the investment world.

I read "Invest like a Shark" and am thinking of subscribing to the Rev Shark premium here at TSPTalk...but I'm too cheap. I bought the book used on Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/Invest-Like-Shark-Limited-Investing/dp/0132213087

I got John Murphy's "Visual Analysis" CD. It was cheap and had some really good information.

http://stockcharts.stores.yahoo.net/visualanalysis.html

I got Martin Pring's "Intro to Technical Analysis" (also used on Amazon) and have only made it to about chapter 3 so far.

http://www.amazon.com/Martin-Prings-Introduction-Technical-Analysis/dp/0070329338

And last but not least I'm almost finished with the Idiots Guide to Day Trading Like a Pro. (This one I bought new with a gift card I got at Christmas)
