Kave's Account Talk

I just bailed out myself, hope for a little gain by the end of the day, that should trigger a huge uptick tomorrow!

I do not blame you for bailing...although it appears you saved the market today. Your "Hope" appear to be able to move the market...or perhaps we just moved off a tradeable low. In any case, holding my breathe till the market closes. Then, hopefully repeat tomorrow but with a bit more conviction. Ugh...the easy days are over. :worried:

IFT executed effective COB C-25%, S-50%, I-25%. This was one of the most wrangled over IFT decisions I've made. It very well may be a quick Ya IN & Ya OUT call!!

IFT executed effective COB today. 100% G-Fund. The potential to lock in approx 1% gain this month and in the environment is simply to hard to pass up!!

Testing, Testing, 1,2..... I haven't posted in so long I want to make sure all you TSP Talkers can hear me. Kave has bought the dip and officially jumped into the S Fund pool effective COB today. Now, let's make some $$$$

I'll drink to that!

One of the best thing about being in St. Thomas is that it is 5 O'clock when the bell rings at closing so there are no excuses especially on a Friday.

That and the beautiful weather and clear aquamarine water, fresh seafood etc. Obviously ready to go back!

Have a great weekend!

Executed IFT to G-Fund effective COB Friday. The DW & I had quite a few things going on so I didn't get it posted here. And I actually missed the 12:10 cutoff to get it recorded in AutoTracker. But it's all good. My thinking is capital preservation!! My pending retirement date is Dec. 2016. My retirement plan is set at a TSP gain of 8%/year. Ideally, I'd be very excited to see 12%. With this IFT I'm able to lock-in a Y-T-D gain of 4.56%. So I'll sit in the G-Fund till the next buy signal in April.

Best Of Luck!

Prudent move on your part. You are thinking ahead to retirement!

Even though there appears to be room for a continued move up in the markets, I have initiated an IFT 100% @ COB today. Provided today the S Fund closes up .3% (as it currently sits) that puts me at 5%+ for the year. My retirement plan is set for 8%/year with a retirement date of Dec 2016. I'm really trying to take small portions of gain in this market. I'll continue to be extremely content with a 1% gain/month.

So I'll currently sit out of the reaminder of April and see what opportunities May presents me.

Good Luck All!!!

Smart approach IMHO and one that I am currently planning to follow until I retire in 1 year and then beyond. 5-7% is not only attainable for a year, it is also a way to continue to grow your account to a point of almost no depletion with reasonable withdrawals beyond 59 1/2.

Good solid plan!

1% per month consistently averaged over the years is my goal too. that would be easy street in my book. i have only managed to average 7% about on tspltalk full year tracker history over 5 years. that is still good money and a nice enough neighborhood for me.

i got a late start, mid 40's and another 20 years to go. unless i hit the lottery, i plan on working until i'm 65 or die, which ever comes first. part of my retirment calculations include the fact i am not and will not be in anyone's will who has net assets. also i am perfectly happy living in a tent. so i don't worry about it too much at this point. they make some really nice tents these days. life is what you make it. plus there is always an outside chance i find me a sugar mama, get me a home office and a desk with a name plaque that says 'kept man', ahh yeah.

So far I'm doing OK. The beginning of the 5th month and I'm a little over 6%, not too shabby. Really don't want to give any of it back which always seems to happen, waiting for the REAL Up Trend to start again.
