kar crazy's Account Talk

WH: May your sails be full this sailing season...

KC: Rev you your engines...

I don't know how the market plays in the coming days..one group says oil prices are too high, and this rally has lasted longer than expected...on the other hand, those rate cuts are taking effect and the stimulus package is probably doing something positive for the economy..

The news looks crappy today...but will it tomorrow..

Still 50 G, 50 stocks..

GL to your guys..

no would it keep it doun better? i kind of like wheelies as long as it goes straight:nuts: but on the juice it has been to close to the bumper and the right wall:blink: one night she hooked a right i had to lift to miss the barer was not good on the front end 3300# car not bad but with fuel sky rocketing i am lucky to go once a month sometimes twice so i am real happy to be tied for second in my class:)

It will "square up" your launch; plant the right rear quicker & harder based on the air pressure you select. Set a time delayed relief valve to activate sometime mid track, or just wire in another bleed button. A level launch would sure look real sharp, and indicate you have your "relatively stock" chassis dialed in... and very under budget when you consider the alternatives. :)

The Basics of Bite
The Application of Power

When power is applied to the pinion gear and into the ring gear of the rear axle, the pinion tries to climb the ring gear. When viewed from the front of the car, the clockwise twist of the pinion attempts to lift the right (passenger-side) rear tire off the ground and plant the left (driver-side) tire. This is the natural reaction of all rear axles to torque input. This also explains why drag racers place a certain amount of preload on the right rear tire to counteract this force. An example of this is the use of an airbag over the right rear axle that preloads the chassis to counteract this torque reaction.

At the same time that the axle is attempting to lift the right rear tire, the body is twisting in the opposite direction, which normally results in the body squatting over the right rear. All of this is the reaction to torque input. The more torque you apply or the more gear ratio you use to multiply the torque, the more twisting effort is applied to the chassis. Drag racers and suspension engineers have collaborated to create very specific ways to explain how all this happens and have also come up with ways to manage the power in a systematic fashion.

thanks FT, i will read into this some more i have went to (cal track bars) in back a whole lot better than traction bars they look like those bars in car craft, i dont have the exact 60 foot times with me but they helped a bunch we run them on a single leaf and you bring the tension right to the leaf , i left about a 8th inch loose on drivers side and it pulled on launches hard to the right when i evened the tention out it seems to launch alot straighter on the bottle, but as you can see my left does come up before the right but i love trying new tips this is part of t-n-t and drag racing
Thanks again
Gary

old roundy round parts:D 383 chevy small block my cam used to run dirt track in early 70s and still holding up to 250 hp shot of juice heads were run in the 80s kinda cheater heads they look like double hump but they are not :D they even look like they have the GM badging those dirt trackers are pretty slick ,9 inch in back last year ran 411 this year stepped into 433 better launch but kind of hurt mph and top end they help me sleep @ the tree:laugh::laugh: and still laughing as i type

350 30 over with a 400 small block crank (eagle) internaly balanced 6 inch rods to use 350 flywheel and balancer i put out the numbers and gears but people at the track dont believe me when they see it run, 6.10 lift solid cam and a 750 holley and i still drive her to work about twice a year kinda rough ride she is a pretty stiff ride the way she sits:D

No Prob. Figured you were on your game. Looks like you have it dialed in pretty close based on your current drivetrain & powerplant. The bag could easily ice the cake, and improve your ET. Car launch straight; good thing.
Take care there, and GL.
Brian

and Thank you F T p.s. I miss the elci pics:D i am helping put a bigger front end in a 76ish monster p/u chevy of course , when we get it in i will send pics 427 big block hes thinking about running in the mud pit:D cant afford driving to work to often

Make sure he gets his pinion angle and inner "C"'s right. I had to rotate my D60 pinion angle up 12 degrees, and cut/re-locate the inner "C" caster angle back the same; running 7 degree negative caster. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth while I 5-pound sludge-hammered the inner "C"'s off the axle tubes. After several beers, the aim gets ugly.
