JTH's Account Talk

Thank for the great read and a new resource (JTH/Maggie). I jumped in with my first EFT of the month 50/50 C/I. I assume some risk with I it would appear according to the EFT prophet summary.-(I'm hoping China does not raise rates this month) The same boost we saw today I'm hoping is the impact of our TAX bill being passed. Although the russell 2000 is at a whopping 191% risk/return rate I can only say I'll watch an learn.

How much weight should be placed on RSI for the S fund as an entry point?

JTH,
I was searching but could not find who posted this area (around 1246 SPX) as important resistance. Was it you? if not, what do you think of this area as an important resistance area. Tia.

I think it was Uptrend, and I don't know why, unless your looking at the 1245 substantial noise from the 2005 timeframe.

I'm so deep in my pile of bull manure that it's warm and very snuggy - thinking about what to buy tomorrow. Could the Dow close at 11,500 today.

May you enjoy a happy sleigh ride!

Thanks, I've been seeing some subtle signs the pullback was over, I decided today might provide a better entry point than my previously planned Monday. We'll see how that works out...

Well I think I've come pretty darn close. At week #59 off the March low I've gained $1294K. At week #93 I've gained $1515K. Now I'm working on the $2M and may finish it during the next 5 weeks. Then it's on to #$3M and I believe I can do it in 40 weeks.

That would be great IF you woke up one day and decided to start investing in the market as a buy and holder the exact same day the market hit botton...........more importantly, where do these indices stand from the highs of 2007? Most TSP'ers have had their accounts since before the tech bust of 2000-2003, not since April of 2009...............;)

You're not going to make it on TV. They know how to pick a point to start from and shrug off what happened in the past. Kinda like youngsters without that inconvenient historical perspective to temper confidence.

Sorry, I'm a bit pissed, I see wealth destruction everywhere I look. I see the mom & pop shops living hand-to-mouth while the elite traders escape the flash crashes, leaving the dumb money to take the loss. We have 89% of the S&P 500's stocks trading above their 200 moving average, but is this the true value? What are the long-term repercussions of this Federal-manipulated market going to do to my generation X? Enjoy the easy money while you can, just be sure you have the 3Gs of guns, gold, and gardening...
