JTH's Account Talk

Hello JTH,

I am trying to understand the MARCON better and was wondering what the = < > signs indicate and also what the small number to the right of each fund indicates?

Thanks

MARCON Symbols:
< Last weeks strength is less than this weeks strength.
> Last weeks
strength is greater than this weeks strength.
=
Last weeks strength is equal to this weeks strength.
Numbers reflect the number of weeks a signal has had the same color condition.

My thinking is the S fund strength is really just a head fake - wouldn't be surprised if it heads back to $21.41 in the not to distant future.

Very observant BT, regardless of the new 52-week high put in, the old trend was damaged to the point MARCON replaced it. The old trend had a 25 degree AoA (Angle of Attack) the new trend has a 22 degree AoA. Perhaps a subtle difference to some, but it's the subtle differences that make up the sum of the big picture.

I'm of the impression that Intrepid is waiting on a lower S fund price before he strikes - that could be at least a week away. A $21.41 price would be delicious for another swing trade run - but I'm only wishful on that price. I could really use a small cap blast off to garner me some buying power - then I'd be ready for a righteous consolidation to pump up the fear. This bull is a stupendous money machine and it won't stop flowing for several years. How long do you think it will take before the VIX falls into the lower Bollinger band at 14.66 - I'm sure you'll be back in safety when that happens.

You didn't notice me slip into G?

But here's the real story and how should we price this in? One of these is not like the other...

52-Week High Dates:

4 Feb: NASDAQ, S&P 400, S&P 500, W4500, Apple

18 Jan: Transports, FedEx, GoldmanSux, VIX (#2 low of 52-week lows)

The NYAD hits all time high last week. SOX (Semiconductor Index) has a monthly RSI above the 70 level for the first time in eleven years. I'd get reinvested again real soon. The Dow of 14,198 on 10/11/07 is not that distant maybe like 15% to go.

That F fund may be getting closer to a buy signal than the S fund ................;)

Have 6 positions in the markets right now and 5 are in the green ahead of my cost basis. Once they break past 10% I'll sneak in a manual rising stop. Looking to drop 600 on another position if I can find one appealing enough.

Picking up two more positions tomorrow, I have no idea what these over-extended markets will do, in the meantime I'll buy what I can while I can.

I might just be the least liked person in the forum. Transports haven't closed above 20MA since 18 Jan. Look at the declining positive volume over the last 4 days, ask yourself what's going to happen when negitive volume comes pooring back in? Nevermind me sitting in the G I have a vested interest in seeing a sizable pullback.

Sit tight Captain Optimism - amoeba is on the way. Many stocks are already at all-time highs. The Transports are compressed for immediate release to move much higher - they simply have to inorder to participate in this advancing recovery. I'm into train repair.
