jayhawker Account Talk

Jayhawker,

Sorry to hear about your postition. With your Excel skills you could find a GS position in the DC area easily. You could be responsible for getting rid of the fuzzy math inside the Beltway.

Thanks FG. I've had more than one opportunity to go to DC and work at L'Enfant Plaza. It's just not my cup of tea. I like it in the trenches.

Anyway, all is right in my world again. I got a new position and a promotion too. I have to change buildings but it's still in the metro area so I don't have to relocate. Now I'm negotiating an appropriate raise and a reserved parking spot. (It's easier to get the raise than the parking spot.) :)

I've had a stressful week! My job has been eliminated and today is my last day in this position....
Waiting for an email, but some fools have jammed up the email servers with spam (I've deleted over 1000 unread emails in the past three days.)
Good to hear you found something. The lower the lows in life, the higher the highs. I like to stay somewhere in the middle at all times.

About the spam, I notice you still have a hard coded email address posted on TSPLookup page (and maybe here on the board). The spammer's programs are contantly on the lookout for this type of info. I would change those links to say "click here to contact me" with the link going to an email.

I posted my support@... email address on the home page for a couple of hours the other day when the servers were being up graded and it is amazing how much more spam I am getting now.

Thanks. All my life, for every good thing that has happened something equally bad has happened - and visa-versa. I'd be afraid to leave the house if I ever won a lottery! :D

The spam attack was at work. Not spam as such since as it was from other USPS employees . Someone sent an email advertising MPE/Maintenance opening at a faclility in the northeast to EVERYONE with a usps.gov email address. That started an avalanche of replies to all... complaining, making fun, offering advice on how to create rules to automatically delete, and more complaining. It got out of hand. Finally, IT and the Inspection Service stepped in to trap them.

We've been advised on how to (not) respond to unwanted emails and warned not to perpetuate them. I would expect all that responded will be disciplined in some way.

WOW! That's great!

Congratulations, and good luck in your new job!!!

Congratulations on the new job!!! Been there on the mass e-mails from a PO 2000 miles away. Just hit delete. Works every time.

Hey Show-me, you're in STL, right? I worked at Midwest Area Office (when it existed)... used to go to the main plant downtown quite often. That place is the epitome of "the trenches"!

I'm in Gateway District, but out in the rurals far, far, away for St. Louis. I have heard stories that scare me about St. Louis. I could not take the pressure of working in a office that large and having to fight for parking too.

Worked in those trenches myself in St. Louis Main Office. Cut throat in that building. I was happy to go back in the field. Good luck in new position.

Golly! What a great day! :) It puts me back in the black this month and the account is at a new all-time high! :D

I've been busy - what with the new job and additional duties - and haven't been able to visit the board every day. I've been holding at 25% C, 50% S, and 25% I for several days and I'm the same today. Just haven't had time to keep up and "day-trade." Looks like Ebb and the Ebbtracker were placed right again today. That system is remarkable!

Anyhoo... back to the grind.

Seven weeks since I've posted here??? Shame on me! Where does the time go?

Okay... I've made some moves that I failed to post. My "no chat" thread indicates I was last 50% G and 50% S, the tracker indicates I was 100% I. In reality, I've been 100% G all this month. So, my return in the tracker are not correct. No biggie.

I'm moving 100% S for Tuesday.

Have a great holiday!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to ALL!

Happy New Year everyone!

2007 was the first year that I've paid close attention to my account. I set a very aggressive dollar amount goal to reach - and I surpassed that goal on December 10th. Unfortunately, December 11th was brutal and I fell back under the goal. At the end of the year, I missed my goal by a "whopping" $313.45. :D I'm counting this as close enough for government work! For the year, I acheived 22.87% compounded - my best year since 2003. I had nine positive months and three negative months. August was my best month with a 7.37% return and five figures in dollars.

Thanks to Tom and everyone here at TSPTalk for their input, advice, and guidance. And thanks to TSPLookup users and supporters. Let's have another great year! :)

Ed.

Ed, thank you for all your effort that went into making TSPLookup.

It's contributions from folks like you that sets TSP Talk apart from the immitators!

God Bless:)

After a disastrous start to the new year , I've made a good amount of money this week. I'm going to lock-in 60% of it and sit tight for a bit.

60% G
20% C
20% S

Ed.

50% C
50% S

as of today.

Might as well go all in. Not making any money on the sidelines and am still buying for less than I sold at last month.

Ed.
