I fund for March 08

I always use the Nikkei 225. The Nikkei 225 is easy to find. I can only find the Nikkei 300 on the Nikkei web site.

The EAFE fund does not invest in indices. The fund invests in stocks.

Toyota Motors is list as one of the largest market cap stocks in the EAFE.

Toyota Motors is listed on the Nikkei 225. Toyota Motors is not listed on the Nikkei 300.

Since most markets are closed today except the Nikkei, we can compare the results.

EAFE estimate +0.045%

Nikkei 225 –0.020%

Nikkei 300 + 0.440%

It appears that the Nikkei 225 is closer to the EAFE results.
Here is a good link for the NIKKEI 300:

The NIKKEI 300 is part of the "I" fund.

Seems somewhat of a "no-brainer" to get in the I-fund today given the USM gains and the temporary hiatus in most of the OSM. Might Barclay's wait until tomorrow to apply the FVC from Thursday to account for this? It will probably still be a good move, I'm thinking.

Well, I am falling for the trap, what the heck, I only have 5 more 'FREE' trading days until my exile to the 'letter-only' route kicks in!!!!!!!! Might as well make some more moves that the TSP board is trying to 'protect' me from!!

EA

EAFE for Friday= $0.08
plus EAFE Monday up $0.10 = $0.18
minus FV for Monday (previous) of -$0.24 = -$0.06
plus FV for Monday (guess) of $0.28 = +$0.22 :)

So you're saying it's a "no brainer" because the OSM generally follows what the USM did the day before and because most of "I" Fund's stocks are traded in the OSM?

Why are you guessing a +FV today, because so many OSMs were closed??? The pre-12 o'clock level did not change much, so what is the rational on this??

Thanks, EA

Corvette,

Here are my numbers::)

Friday's MSCI EAFE = .38%
Monday's MSCI EAFE = -.34%

Friday+Monday = +1 cent.

Thursday +FV = 24 cents.

Monday's I fund should be 1 - 24(-FVC) = -23 cents.

TSP shows I fund up 33 cents.

There for, Monday's +FV = -23 + 33 cents = 56 cents.

Tomorrow, Barclay will take away 56 cents.

My Calculation is - 0.24 Because they forgot about Thursday's FV of +24. They will minus 24 cents for tomorrow.

My is FVC - 0.49

my is -.39

LOL!...Was my math wrong somewhere? Did the I fund not pay 33 cents today?

Corvette, check your MSCI EAFE numbers for Monday.:)

They haven't had a UfV Correction since March 14th. The cumulative total of UfVs since then is 2.71% ( $ 0.59).
