I fund for March 08

I hope not. My instant gains will disappear. :worried:

It's tough especially in the I Fund you were set up for a big day then the market drops with the dollar. This happened to me 5 for 5 this year and I gave up. Big day foreign markets then US Market drops usually when CNBC ha some Ambac rumor and it cost me huge. My timing was terrible so I played it safe moving back and forth from the F.

Hope you make out OK but the market is just a guess right now. But I really think the Fed jumping in with 2 Billion caused this market to spike way to fast. So one bad day and there will be panic.

Best of Luck !!!!:)

Question!
I admit it! I'm confused, how much of yesterdays gains in the I fund were do to a declining dollar, if any? Anyone!

hi all, I'm new. what is FV? - assuming something with the value of the dollar. I've been playing I-fund a lot, but I'm thinking it's due for a bounce soon,.. I may start playing the S and C... any thoughts?

Welcome Nice, Good luck with the I Fund! The market is very dangerous right now, especially the I Fund. Serious business!:D Not for playing.:D Link may help with FV question. http://www.tsp.gov/faq/faq4.html#sub1

understanding what it is may help but the problem is guessing how much it is.

[FONT=&quot]Putting on my turban and thinking for me, tomorrow looks like a good time to pull back from I at COB. Almost did today, but the tea leaves weren't just right.
Scares me this morning the S&P heading up a bit this early, but that's ok too for an FV, just cost more tomorrow to get into the C fund.
Only question is, will I have the nerve to go C instead of G. Don't trust F yet, still too much of a tug of war going on behind the scene, and if F heads up, someone will create a problem and take from that pot (yes, I think they are stealing our money). Treasury Secretary said it was in the Nations best interest for the dollar to be strong. No Sh!t, but the dorkmister (Beniknook) hasn't done anything to support that ideal.

If you sit quietly on needles, the pricks won't get you.

Plus 2 cents today.

I fund will start about a quarter (.25 cents) low tomorrow from the fv situation today. Any new people to the FV, it means because of the "adjustment" today they will have to correct the "adjustment" usually the next day. Not always the next day but it WILL be corrected eventually. So if you buy in on a +FV day that means you start the next day in the negative. But it also has an advantage if you buy in and the opposite happens meaning -FV applied then they will give it back so you start positive. I should have just shut up.

G fund 12.37 push
F fund 12.07 down .03
C fund 14.90 up .07
S fund 17.80 up .22
I fund 22.48 up .02
FV for Friday (previous) = $0.25

[FONT=&quot]Couldn't find another thread to ask this, but as I was watching Bloomberg for the Euro markets guess it can go here.

Did anyone hear the Bloomberg phone interview of the Swatch CEO Nick Hayek last night? What a crack up. I was very surprised that the U.S. censors didn't bleep out some of his toned explicitives.

Friday EAFE estimate down $0.19
minus Friday (previous) FV of $0.25= $0.44
minus FV for today (guess) of $0.31= -$0.75
