Put 35% in I fund in the summer when I thought this think might be winding down (25% C and 40% G) dollar was weak and i thought I was a good bet. Boy was i wrong!! Now the dollar is almighty and I am considering pulling out of I, taking the losses and moving it back to C. Wish I knew what to do? would appreciate some thoughts. I retire in 6-7 years (or maybe more now) and am in a quandry. do I just sit it out? Help.:confused:

I did, but I am definitely not a CFP. I am going to at least wait for better news from Japan before I get back in. Probably wait for some side movement as well.

gary,
The I-fund has lost more value than the C-fund. A switch (IFT) to C is possible, but looks to be at a loss.

If your looking for a temporary rebound off the current lows, then the (I)
Fund might very well outperform the (C) and (S). As proof of that, take a
look at what I wrote in my thread today;

If your looking for an entry point for a long term investment, the (I) is
not the the place to be right now. In fact, you might be waiting quite
a while (maybe well into 2009) before our outlook starts to generate
some sideline movement back into the market. I see the market dropping
even lower after a Bear Rebound. There's just too much bad news out
there and the International Fund will have to play catch up to the U.S.
Market over the long haul. (Just my opinion). ;)

Thanks Squalebear. If I understand what you are saying, I am best served looking for a bounce in the I Fund markets in Europe and Asia and then transferring to C Fund. I appreciate everyone's response very much. Much to think about. I obviously screwed up this summer and appreciate the emotional support.
