Hello everyone. I'm introducing myself here and I hope you all will go easy on me as I learn more about how the TSP works. I work for one of our LE agencies and would love to maximize my TSP's potential with help from others on here.

I'm looking for some contribution allocation strategies. My 4th qtr personal rate of return in 2012 was 10.11%. I am hoping some of you will have some insight in how I can increase/maximize my RoR. Thank you.

argyle64, Welcome. 10.11% 4th quarter isn't bad for a noob. Very good. What's great about this place is everyone wants to help. Ask lots of questions.

If you're an 1811 and you don't get Dan Jamison's annual FERS Guide For LE Retirement, you should. Dan is a FBI SA who has been putting out his unofficial guide for several years. I've found it to be the most comprehensive and easy to understand guide to LE retirement provisions. (Dan also puts out a guide for non-LE folks) The link below is to his most recent updated guide (Posted by another 1811 on his TSP trading strategy website). If you email Dan he'll add you to his email distribution list and you'll get future updates, and he's also working on a website that you can download the guide from directly.

Thanks! I sent him an email request. There's a ton of good info in there.

There is no lack of advice on these boards for what is the best allocation. It will run the gammit. Try the threads under:
http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/forum.php#tsp-strategies .
Also, Market Talk threads or just the Fund threads. There are lots. They are all listed under the Forum tab.

Good Luck in your trades. Make sure you join the Autotracker so you can watch your progress...and the progress of the rest of your fellow TSP Talkers!!
