[SOAPBOX]Jim, as much as I try to understand what this has to do with our financial markets, I can only assume by some link through Kevin Bacon you will make it relevant.

As a Sailor, I am ashamed of the "former" Sailor using his uniform as a crutch to make a political statement. It also reminds me of all the law breakers in these protests who have their face covered. If you are going to stand for something, stand for it and and don't hide behind a mask.

I am sure that all the union police are the instigators of violence and all the protesters were standing around in the designated place (according to the demonstration permit they had to get) and were not breaking any laws (local, state, or federal). I am sure the police saw this crowd, didn't like it, and started shooting rubber bullets and throwing gas cans because they needed to get through the crowd to the donut shop. I am also sure that the protesters were all standing around singing Kumbaya...
Prove that one, and I am with you there on all this police brutality crap you spout.

After Teachers, the Police whos job is to uphold our laws, are poorly treated by those who have no idea how difficult their job is...

Our Constitution doesn't guarantee freedom to do what ever you want, just the freedom to do what you can within the confines of our laws. To this day it continues to amaze me that a person will condemn the Constitution because it isn't progressive enough, yet carry the Constitution as proof of their freedom to protest at will...

Some folks seem to forget we are country of laws.

I believe it.

that is one of the agendas of libtards...to create their own version of "history" with a complicit media attempting to fashion public opinion. OTHO our 1776 experience was a spontaneous response to tyranny by God fearing patriots.

Masks? Really?

OaklandMask.JPG

This is the first one. That ski mask was probably worn because it was (1) cold, (2) to protect from vicious police tear gas, or (3) to hide his identity.

There are numerous ones on many videos, just remove your blinders...

Lifes hard, my dad would say "but you know what! You put your big boi pants on and you get out and get a job....ANY job! You do what you HAVE to do to make your way."

I'm 33 yrs old, I've worked digging ditches, I've worked fast food and I've struggled, scraped by, but I can honestly say that looking back now there were so many good times along the way. Now I have a decent job a good wife who has a decent job and we have things. We save, we don't have credit cards our cars are paid off and soon our house will be too.

I've never gone out into the street and hurled rocks at the police, nor have I ever rung up huge debts that I knew I couldn't afford then expected the government to pay for it, I have BEEN unemployed before and so I know it sux BUT I DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT!.........I went out and Got A JOB! ...ANY JOB! Ross Perot once said "MY family is GONNA eat, and have a roof over their head because ill do Whatever it takes..I'll mow yards if I have too!"

These kids out protesting are a bunch of PUNKS, losers who's parents failed them and they in turn will fail their own kids. Cry me a river! Arrest them and slap em with fines and a criminal record that will haunt them for life! They make my blood boil! Hahaha, I really like the psuedo buddist girl in that video "meditating" I gotta good laugh outta that!

Idiots!......

You were extreamly fortunate at the time and took advantage of those opportunities, which I beleive is your point. However you tell me where all the jobs are NOW amigo and why.

You are the age of my kids, and they both grew up in better times as did you. One lost her job in 07/08 but because of an education she is now back in the game and lovin what she's doing. She admits she was very very lucky. But her hard work got her there which is another point you are making.

Not all of the protesters are as you describe as "PUNK losers". If you look real close, with out any filters/blinders on, you will also see a cross section of americas young, old, educated and not yearnig to contribute to the American Dream.

Not all of these people are the idiots you describe.

Peter Schiff should get points for wading into the NYC mob with his sign: "I am the 1%-let's talk". Some of the people in his video should be allowed to retain their right to vote...some...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGL-Ex1CD1c

I wonder if this brief experiment in a democratic republic will pass into the history books and we will find that a Putin really understands how to lead and manipulate the masses? When will we elect a President by "likes" on Facebook? Will that Z man be able to guide the election results? :)

Look I lived in central America (Guatemala) and the people down there live in extremely dire circumstances, they have had dictator after dictator, the unemployment rate is much higher, as is crime, hunger, poverty etc etc. They eat black beans and rice everyday, have no cable tv, a family is doing good to have 1 car, FORGET social services, welfare, and unemployment. But you know what.....I saw firsthand how they made the best out of their situation without, violent protests, getting out in the streets chunking rocks, and throwing a general temper tantrum. They are studious, clever, willing to work hard, and now after everything they have been through are battlehardened and tough skinned, but yet seem to be relatively happy.

I just think many here (especially the young) among us are wimpy, thin skinned, whining complaing sniveling brats who think life should be easy breezy, where we can walk around in shorts and flip flops all day with bed head and a cafe mocha from Starbucks, and when we can no longer afford those 5$ coffees we need to pout and throw a fit about it, because after all bob across the street can still have them so should I.

Life is tough and unfair so get over it! PREPARE for the worst, HOPE for the best. As far as this argument about there being NO jobs, that's a bunch of crap, you mean there are no jobs they really want, I garuntee you if I was to be unemployed, id have a job within a few months (might not be the job I want) but a job nonetheless. I would network friends and family and come up with something. How do I know I could do it?....cuz I've done it before MANY times. I have a good reputation for being a hard dependable worker, a reputation I take serious. Many today just simply don't know what that means, neither do they understand what good work ethic is, or being 15 min early everyday, or never calling in sick, (I have perfect attendance 5 yrs straight now.)

Bottom line: many people have just simply lost the most valuable knowledge on earth, biblical knowledge.
And if I offend you with my opinion, let me apologize up front, that's not my intention, rather to create a strong counter argument to what I see as a flimsy society.

Blah, blah, blah..... How many times do we need to argue about this kinda stuff.

Nobody is going to change their mind here. Too much political brainwashing going on from both sides.

Perhaps these kids should take a second to get on the web and find a job. No jobs? There are plenty to be had if you are qualified for them. Perhaps the problem with these people is that they are so hung up on living in California or NYC. That to even comprehend living somewhere outside of those places is impossible to them. It makes no sense to me why people would want to live in NYC or in some of the cities of CA.
In this day and age, finding work is easier then it ever was. However, we have to be more adaptable then before as well. Moving to another state should not be out of the question. You don't get to choose the perfect job out of college. Work your way up to it.

:cheesy: exactly...so let's all agree I'm right and move on! :cheesy:

My daughter was especially recruited for her current job because she was a junior military officer - and the employer had certain criteria. She is now in a position to build a network that will help her in the future. Sometimes it's who you know and work for in the business community that will lead to other opportunities.

Restoring our Manufacturing base is what's needed. Then there would be plenty of all types of jobs, but sadly Clinton and Carter sent those jobs South and Overseas.:suspicious:
