Gilligan's Account Talk

I still don't understand this business about Barclays "taking back" FV. Whatever adjustments they are doing, I would think the purpose would be to have it all be even at the end of every day. Are we suggesting that they deliberately take more money from investors than can be rigorously justified by all the various accounting of currency and stock moves? Then "give it back" later? It can't be like that, someone would be in jail.

It's exactly like that.

You were one of the factors, but it was my decision. Also persuasive were a chart posted this AM by FundSurfer, as well as end-of-quarter window dressing. In any event, you could not control a FV decision and I am not ready to be your detractor, because you have a clear mind and knowlege of the I fund. Moreover, I only invested 25%, As you can see, I am satisfied with my decision, but I also know that you have a pretty good track record yourself. Even tough I won't necessarily follow your footeteps, I will appreciate that you keep posting your moves, because I can do my own analysis by looking at what factors you and others with more experience are looking at and what you are doing here. Are you pulling out tomorrow? Thanks again! --

I decided to stay in since Barclays might take back the 15 cents today, hopefully the internationals will make some gains the remainder of the week and the dollar might fall.

I am splitting this 50% C/50% I right now. Good Luck. --

Sponsor,

Are you sure you want that much of the inhospitable C fund, it's such a lonely place to leave money.

Dennis

I'm doing my best to spread the risks in an uncertain and difficult to gauge market. But my intention is to stay in these funds for only one or two days, unless a downturn surprises me; or unless I receive better arguments that warrant staying longer. If you, or anyone else has a better opinion, I will gladly consider it! Birchtree, where are you invested?--

Sponsor,

The Birchtree is and has been 100% C fund and will hold that line until a price of $17.00 is achieved. I also allocate my DCA 100% C fund. I'm a C fund kind of guy for this cycle. But I also have no fear of this great economy. And I'm slowly pushing 33,000 shares of this bodacious fund. My goal is 40,000 shares and then I pull out my well oiled pearl handle Sturm Rugers and start pistol shooting my way toward wealth.

Birchtree, --

I recall you explained this to me some months ago. I am not allergic to any of the funds, and I wish you lots of luck! --

Sponsor,

I was using reverse psychology as a pun. You will do fine with your choices. Now that a majority has been chasing performance of the I fund - I fear the same wall will be waiting when they notice and move toward the C fund. We need to keep them away as long as possible - eat some S fund for desert.

Thanks! I do hope the monster doesn't turn around and bite before I can make some inroads! --

I hope the markets keep on going up, the I fund may go up again tomorrow. I decided to take some profit. 100% G, cob 9-28-06

I went 50% G, 50% F effective today, following Tom's suggested allocation, but I intend to come back to the I-fund ASAP. --

I'll head back into the F fund....but after yesterdays' BEARISH ENGULFING candle at top of run, was a sign of minor dippage coming, so will watch for DOJI or HAMMER candle to get back in over the next couple/few days.

The I was getting too close to top BOLLINGER BAND for my comfort, so exited, but will definitely re-enter that one soon as well.
