Frixxxx's Account Talk!

Staying 100% G this week.

I think December might be an F fund month.

Anyway, I get to go to Huntsville next week for a class.

2 weeks in Alabama, might have to throw back some Krystal burgers again.

Anyone in town there? I'll buy the first drink! I'll be at the Army base there so I know nothing about the area!

Anyway, I hope you have a great month, I'll try and look in from time to time!

I was stationed in Montogmery back in the early 90s (Maxwell/Gunter AFB).

The Space Museum was awesome, but I was barely an adult then!

Unfortunately, I'll be begging rides while I'm there....no rental car authorized!:notrust:

I went to Marshall Space Flight Center a few years back for some training. It is part of the Redstone Arsenal and security is provided by the army. All that I remember is that when I stopped at the gate to show my badge and sign in there was a soldier standing up in a Humvee leaning on an M60. Now that is security. I stayed just down the street at the hotel that was next to Space Camp. Do not remember too much about the area though.

That's where I was stationed to finish off my time in the Service.

They sent me there for R&R -- wanted to give me a chance to chill before I became a civilian.

Well....let me think about that ....

Went with a guy in my Company to meet and pick up his sister. She's the one I'd mentioned awhile back that looked liked the Candy O Woman --- laying on the car (The Cars album). Anyway we went to the pool there on base .... one of the best times I ever had.

They've got a Civic Center there -- I went with 4 others to a concert (Foreigner). Ya know once in a lifetime something just happens out of the blue and --- BAM... you're like blown away. Well in walks this girl that was like the most georgeous beauty I'd ever seen ... and I'm a few rows up from the landing where she's walking and she looks up at me ... and just stands there smiling and acting like WOW !! You're something and we kind of 'locked into each other' and she gives this incredibly beautiful smile and stays there like -- Well come on -- Join me.

They've got a few nice resturants there. Anyway one of the classiest ones had this maccaroli (shell) salad -- I just loved. I think I took a few ladies there.

Hmmmm... then I went to the Movie Theater with Jean and watched 'Rocky' ... man did I cry ..... but she didn't.

Yeah it's pretty cool and I'm pretty sure you need a fairly good security clearance to even be stationed there.

Redstone Arsenal has a lot of cool stuff --- they were into Lazers and had Lazer Ranges way back in the 70s.

If you had a chance to really drive around you'd see a bunch of stuff like the Space Shuttle .... but most of the areas are restricted and you'd better have a good reason for going wherever.....

I was a Motor Pool Sgt at that time and seeing how one of soldiers would do driving a bigger truck. So I'm kind of enjoying the ride and wanted to explore a bit so told her to just keep going ... when we got to these big 'restricted signs' .... until we saw the Space Shuttle .... so I had her turn around and head back to the Motor Pool. :embarrest::o:cheesy:

Was asked an hour later if I went to ....this place.... and of course I admitted I was.

We didn't see anyone ... but they had our truck number and knew exactly where it belongs...

Anyway -- 3 days before I got out -- while ETSing we had the annual Physical Training and I got the 2nd highest score... figured it was my last chance to really be 'gung hoo'

Well thanks for the memories :D

........am still weak as hell and and feeling nauseated ....

Anyway -- CB -- no idea how that could have happened :worried:

Thanks !! You too my friend :)

Frixxxx -- it's been many years since I was in Huntsville so it's hard for me to say what's in the area. I was a single 'Barracks Rat' except for those rare occasions when I latched up with someone and did get out.

I think pot was a 'mistameanor' (sp) at least in Huntsvile

Anyway -- if you have a car -- just look around I'm sure they have it all. Later man and have a good time.

If he's staying at the Army's Bevill Center, lunch can be on the UAH campus, right next door. Just down the road from the center is the main drag and have some typical resturants and one real good local steakhouse whose name slips my mind... another one of those dang senior moments.;) And I was just there last year. The rooms are caves, but they do have a small fridge. Decent little continental breakfast in the center also.

No, but the DOD have a lot of their Prospect Courses there. I've had several Management and Resource tracking and budgeting type classes there. The last class was OMBIL training, which for me was helpful in tracking anything and everything that moves on our waterways, but alot of project people were there also because it allowed them to track their inventory at projects, bases, pretty much any military installation. You know how the gov't is, if you pass thru their property, they want to know who, what , where ..... ya get the idea.

Decent facilties and of course the folks down there are very friendly. I always enjoy heading south.

Enjoy yourself. :D Ask at the desk for some good local type resturants for dinner. For lunch just hit the campus cafeteria, it's alot better than I remember college food.

Thanks bro,

I'm in an Information Risk Management Class.

I have to obtain my levels to maintain my promotion potential.

It belongs to the Defense Acquistion University.

I'm training to be on those project teams that take a decade to actually contract and produce items for the military....

Oh well, I'm on a diet this month....so I will bank some per diem to pay off Christmas!!

Well, couldn't see everything in the crystal ball.

Job numbers rule.
Japan getting support by selling our treasuries.
Market so really happy with 10% unemployment!

Oh well, I will probably decide to go in next week but have to be careful, I hope Santa is out there this year, but also worried that it could be the Grinch.....

But ya gotta have, HIGH HOPES!!!!!!
