FOREX trading

Hi guys, I see no one has posted in here in 2 years. I'm patient and can wait on a reply. :) Maybe I'll send a PM also.

Where would be a good place to start to try to "learn" about Forex trading? I'm talking about some really dumbed down education, I'm not looking to jump right in and lose all my money, I'd really like to learn and at a slow pace since I'm ignorant on all stock trading/terms/strategies/etc. Thanks!

Go through the School of Pipsology

#1 rule before investing - make sure the wife agrees to the amount you use. I sold it as a hobby. I match what she spends on hers (sewing) and do not exceed by 10%. Reduces arguments on outgoing income.

Good Luck and when you complete the school, you'll be as smart as me.

Just curious if anyone is still playing at this table. I have been researching trading currencies lately and found that this thread is really informative. Thanks to all who have contributed.

I'm not ready to place a real bet, but I will use the practice accounts suggested to get an understanding of how this world works.

Any thoughts on shorting the Yen and going long Gold?

I dropped out of this as there was a lot of bank manipulation. The quickness of trades and the platform being used were also variables I could not get consistent behavior.

It was weird, I could code/write trades against performance, backtest the hell out of my execution, but could not get any trades to work in real time. So, I stopped altogether.

Yeah, I've always been afraid of FOREX. I've been told it is tough to beat. But I do trade S&P futures and don't see any issues with it.
