Fake Bomb Tweet Scares Market

I was watching as this happened. Simply amazing how quickly information, true and false, gets spread in the age of instant information. Twitter is the king of quick info, for good or bad.

Just imagine if this brief but sharp dip caused your positions to close....OUCH!

One thing I noticed with previous flash crashes (or snap reactions to real or false news) is that it tends to foreshadow a market move. In those cases it wasn't long before we were below the low point of the flash crash. In this case that's not too surprising, given the zigzag nature of the market lately.
 
HFT's playing ping ping with each other at the expense of investors. The computer arb trading market was once unique but with so many now playing the same game, errors are reflected instantly.

I read once that a one millisecond advantage equates to $100 million a year on the bottom line for those so-called liquidity providers.
