Although Facebook is requesting that ma and pa investors are able to get in on the Facebook IPO, not all brokerages will have the ability to get shares.
One way to play the Facebook IPO may be to buy stock in a public venture capital fund that already owns a piece of Facebook. Here are a couple that could benefit if the Facebook IPO is successful:
GSVC (15% of their portfolio)
SVVC (13% of assets in Facebook)
These are not secrets. The prices of the stocks reflect this knowledge. The question is, what will happen to them if Facebook's shares soar after the IPO? Or if the IPO falls flat?
Just a way for you and I to play the big IPO if you can't get the Facebook shares at the IPO price.
