FAB1 Account Talk

It may be more popular if it was just a thread. If someone was to post in the group, would we get any kind of notification or do we have to log in to find out?

I just noticed Burro joined. I think if we meet at Happy Hour a couple of nites a week it should catch on better. I posted a notice there just now.

09:05 am : S&P futures vs fair value: +17.50. Nasdaq futures vs fair value: +36.90

IS this where i grab with both hands

and then run for the hills? :D

Can you explain this in stupid terms?:o

It means unless you are 100% in G you MIGHT make some gains today.

 It really depends on a number of factors - one might be some idiot politician shooting off his mouth and spooking investors.

Enjoy the Crap Shoot!

Well I balked moving funds again today, and the I fund will probably spike tomorrow.

:worried: Kick your fool self, FAB1 the I fund is up nearly 1 % over domestic stocks!!

I coulda had a V8 :suspicious:

The trend is up until proven otherwise. Some folks fear making money, they constantly sell their winners and hold their losers. This is a bullish market, let's just learn to enjoy it.

My oceanic is up $75K early in the day - should I sell and head for safety? Nah, I'll hold out for my first ever $100K day - I'm deserving of what Ferdinand gives me. The I fund should boost my tracker standing past the buy and hold S funders today.

And some folks fear LOSING money. I thought it was all bullish UP trending and rosey at the start of April so I bought too soon and it cost me. It wouldnt have been long to wait on the dip that came but I worried about getting that "train left behind" feeling.

Real soon, Im gonna get smart!

Your guess should be as good as anyone else's.:laugh:

Man it's real tough trading this market in the short-term. I'm really liking the 6-month view, it gives me a peaceful perspective on the overall trend. But you are so right about the Fear of LOSING money. Look at my 2009-2010 returns, that was all about fear, and it was fear that led to my underperformance.

I have to remind myself that even if I am not doing as well as I would like to be doing I am light-years ahead of what I did for several years before coming to this MB, which was nothing at all beside sitting in the G fund.

I dont think you become a "Braveheart" overnight like our esteemed Birchtree. :D

But then again a lot of people in stocks arent paying a lick of attention to the stock markets and they just ride out whatever befalls them, good or bad. In that case fear or courage just doesnt apply and I know some people at work that are this way, staunch buyer and holders. And they often come out looking good.

But what happens to them when a "2008" or worse hits? Starting over, and thats a tough row to how.

You ride it out, AND DO NOTHING, I did, and I have more in my account now than in 08. How about those beans!

In 08 I sat tight and I DCA'd all the way down and back up with my biweekly contributions and was picking up even more shares post tax by paying off my TSP loan.

After enduring drops like t08, yesterdays or was it mondays drops are nothing.

I have 27.5 months to go til retirement, and 50% C fund and 50% I fund, with 100% contributions to C.

If you have 10-20 years to go til retirement you better be willing to, as BT says, "Stand in front of the bus". Time mitigates risk, so the younger you are the more risk you should be willing to take.

I went 100g today to lock in some lucky gains. Was wondering about you? Not used to seeing you post so sparingly. Are you ok? Miss your humor and wit. Got to keep the post count up.:D

Im still around. My temporary promotion ended so can't post much during day. Sorry for not checking in sooner! Yeah my post count is going to suffer. Lol.
