Exnavyew's Account Talk

That article has good insight, aligns with Ravensfan's Best/Worst chart, and recent analysis (i.e. Oscar Carboni); I'll be re-balancing to the S-Fund soon!

Anyone know why the stock market dropped after hours today? :worried:

Depends on who you ask. Take your pick:

T/A folks will say 'we've bounce off resistance level such-and-such; and now we're heading towards support level so-and-so.'
Elliott Wave folks will tell you which wave count we're on.
MACD folks will say 'we're over-bought.'
Moving Average folks will tell you which crossover just took place.
Bulls will say, 'don't worry, BTFD.'
Bears will say, 'I told ya so.'
Conspiracy folks will say, 'Central Banks.'
Republicans will say Democrats.
Democrats will say Trump.
Retail will say manipulation.
Crypto folks will say, Bitcoin.
CNBC will say, 'tariffs,' or 'profit-taking,' or 'fat-fingers,' (or whatever else happens to be in the news).
Gap folks will say, 'we're heading down towards an open gap somewhere.'
Algo folks will say, 'sell programs.'
Daytraders will say, 'I'm out--who cares.'
Mom and Pop traders will say, 'what's after-hours?'
Liars will say, 'I sold and went short at the recent highs already.'

Hi ExNavyEw, my two cents is that aside from tariff turf stuff going on all week, the major mover for Friday may have been that there was a ruling that said government can tax online sales. I thought I heard that late Thursday or Friday sometime. Also, OPEC did not agree to increase oil production as much as was thought so that means possible shortages when economies are growing???? There is a good newsfeeder article on 5 reasons affecting market... came out yesterday on this site. Might want to read that article.

I had hoped market would stay up (or at least S fund - small caps) but that didn't happen Friday as I fully exited... bummer.... I expect this coming week will be more of the same... more tariff talks. if they go positive with agreements made, market could go up. But obviously no telling on that. I do know that on 6/30 there is supposed to be some tariff announcements (if not sooner) and again around 7/6. ON 6/30/18, the US is to announced planned investment restrictions for Chinese on Technology from U.S. On 7/6, US to put out list of 800 products that will have a 25% tariff imposed for "strategically important" Chinese imported goods including cars. Here is article on that:

Best Wishes to you!!!

Got a question:
With respect to the I-Fund does today's (Aug 16, 2018) European market closings impact today's TSP I-Fund valuation or does it impact tomorrow's (Aug 17, 2018) TSP I-Fund valuation?
Any feedback is appreciated. :D
