Tax Relief For All Retirees. The Retirement Tax Reduction Act will eliminate 100% of state retirement taxes in Maryland, providing $4 billion in cumulative relief to deserving retirees.
I wrote to them last week and am waiting to hear back.
Does this mean no state taxes on our monthly Gov Retirement annuity check and also Monthly Social Security?? How about any other retirement income accounts such as TSP or a 401K's? No state tax on them either??
I'm interested because I've been thinking of leaving Md. and going somewhere with way lower property taxes like maybe West Va. If Md. did this, it may more than offset the property tax savings, but it all depends on the full extent of what it will impact.
Any other Md. folks out there got a clue??? :blink:

With a possible Relief Rally before the March rate increase, and with it being the last day of Jan to do so, I went from 100% C to 80%C / 20%S. The extra $ per share price in S could help push me back up to where I was before the Jan. Bloodbath. (Thanks JPOW :angryfire::aargh4::AR15firing
Friday DID help, and got me back halfway, but still have some climbing to do. Have to change my mindset from Buy the Dip to Sell the Rally.

On a side note, since Putin and Xi are buddies, and Putin is actually in China right now for the Olympics, does he wait to invade Ukraine until after the Olympics are over so he doesn't take media attention away from his friends Olympic Games?? OR, if he's gonna do it, he better do it before Friday when the games start. Just something to ponder........:thinking:

I'm trying to find something like this (below) to set up on one of my monitors that streams real time stock quotes.
Does anyone else use anything like this, and if so, where can I find it (link please). I think there's a free app for your phone, but not sure if something like this is available (for free) for the PC.
I think it called "stock tiles", or something like that. Thank you in advance !!!!!

I've never had or used anything like this, but it looks like something that would be really useful after seeing it being used by others, so I'm not sure. I think either APP or website would be great just as a starting point. Thanks !!!!:smile:

Not trying to be funny, just asking a question. Did he show up for his scheduled 10:45 am talk on the jobs numbers or not? I waited for him to speak for over an hour and nothing ever happened. If you know something, explain it. I was genuinely interested in what he had to say.
And just to be perfectly clear, I could care less who sits in the drivers seat in DC. I'm here to make money and help others do the same if I can. That's it. Enjoy your weekend.

So, a surprisingly nice rally in the afternoon morphing into typical Friday end of day profit taking. Overall a bit better than I expected considering how the day started, so I'm happy with that.
I really do feel that there is still a good chance for some more upside next week. The two things that scare me coming up is the normal options expiration that happens around the 19th, and also traders starting to get cold feet a week to 10 days before March when the Fed is scheduled to raise rates. Double whammy.
I'll hold 80%C / 20%S going into next week and hope we get some positive upside. Whatever happens, I'll most likely bail before the 19th at some point, regardless. I still feel nauseous from January. :1244:
