eccougar's Account Talk

Starting the year 85 G 15 C and buying in every 2 weeks.
Knee replacement surgery went well and I'm through with therapy.
Good luck everyone in 2010.

This is first time ever I've been 100% G-Fund, but pretty nice getting $15.00 to $16.00 every day of the month. Plan to dca back in starting next month, adding a small percentage at a time, while adding payday contributions to the C-Fund.
I'm mostly an asset allocation investor and last year maintained almost a 50-50 split between equities and bonds, making some nice gains in my over all portfolio. As of now I have 80% bonds and only 20% equities, being a little conservative because I'm nearing 66 years of age.
I hope to eventually get back to 40 or 45% equities.

Moved from 100 G-Fund to: 50 G, 48 F, 2 C. I kept a little in C-fund because of buying every 2 weeks.
I sold 2 mutual funds yesterday(IRAs) and moved 1 to cash reserves. I will reinvest to another fund next week, probably OAKBX a balance fund.
Fairholme fund is holding up well, (until today?) and is up 4.4% ytd.

Employers shed 36,000 jobs in February - better than expected. Unemployment rate held steady at 9.7%. Stock futures rally.

I think the household survey of small employers showed an increase of 800,000 jobs. My daughter is one of those statistics as well as an Air Force Major that was also hired.
