Dow, S&P 500 sell off despite positive NYSE breadth
Although the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 are falling 0.7% in afternoon trading, the NYSE is leaning to the bullish side. The number of advancing stock on the Big Board is outnumbering decliners 1,550 to 1,250, while the volume in advancing stock represents 50.0% of the total volume. And new 52-week highs on the NYSE outnumber new lows 249 to 72. Meanwhile, breadth on the Nasdaq exchange is negative, with decliners outnumber advancers 1,580 to 1,351 and declining volume representing 56.8% of total volume. The Nasdaq Composite shed 1.1%.
