DirecTV Experience

By the way- Direct TV has a "refer a friend" offer, where they give a $100 credit to your bill when you refer someone to them who signs up.

If anyone reading this thread is considering signing up with Direct TV, please feel free to PM me, let's talk, and maybe we can work out a way that I can split it with you 50/50. :-)

Is it too late for me? since I already put the order in? they didn't ask me whether I was referred or not... :D

Probably so.

But you can always cancel your order today, then PM me for my info, then place a new order with Direct TV and give them my account info as the referring agent. :D

I will do the same with Dish Network! It's better!

I'll do it cheaper than either of those two proposals, gauranteed to save you 50% of your TV bill (works with any provider).

Check out TSTV system.

Twelve Step TV works like this (some of the premium offerings are not available under the free trial offer, but enjoy the basic package trail period for a limited time):

1) Take the best price of any of the other TV offers and cut it in half. Send half to your TSP each month, and the other half to me, instant 50% savings!

2) Take annual leave for a day and unplug all electronic devices, including phones and computers. Go outside for at least 8 hours, somewhere there is no electricity or pavement, and spend the day reflecting on the things that matter most (hint, time and/or love are good places to start, but the channel offerings are unlimited here).

3) Schedule a small but reasonable amount of time each day to actively pursue news content of interest to you freely available on the internet with no commercials.

4) I will send you updates each month about upcoming don't miss programs (hint, nothing on the tube is worth spending 4 hours - 16% - per day watching).

5) Pick three programs per week you think you can't live without, then watch them at your leisure for free on the internet just hours after broadcast.

6) Enjoy the petty watercooler conversations about who did what to who generic plot summaries available daily at the office knowing that you didn't waste your time watching that crap.

7-12) Available after reciept of first months payment (but you get the picture).

Bonus: Take half the money you were going to spend on a new plasma to make the most of your new TV service and put it in your TSP. Take the other half and give to a local food bank to help the people who are more concerned with feed and can't afford fantasy.

Bonus Bonus: No charge for the upcoming NFL and NBA seasons that won't be shown anyway.

Free Gift: any weight loss and improvements to mental acquity are yours to keep even if you cancel the subscription.

Does it come with a free remote?

No remote, but your reception of the program depends heavily on you providing your own custom remote experience.

And you don't have to screw anyone to get the deal, although you can screw anyone you like, so long as they like it too.

Now that commercial was worth a month of internet payment. thanks for the broadcast. Good as a GEICO commercial. smilies go here.

I understand if you are in a non-Cable area..what are you gonna do?..But I called three of my friends yesterday who have DirectTV or DISH, during a big T-storm we were having and none of them could get Satellite reception..:notrust:..I like my COX

Big storm no TV, that's the way it is. I had cable and liked it but the wife wanted some channels that we couldn't get on cable so here I am! Hardly ever had a problem with Cable TV, I still use their Internet service.

Unfortunately, our developer and cable company dropped the ball so even if approval is gained, cable runs probably won't happen until next year... not waiting...

Although I do kind of like Burro's idea. Makes sense.
