2591 and a wake up to eligibility...4411 and a wake up to mandatory (Not including leave use)...but who is counting? :D

Congratulations! You made it! Do you have everything planned in retirement, or do you plan to do nothing for a while and think of things to do later?

yeah baby, I am still working here at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, while my bride of 43 years is setting up our new home in Decatur, Ala. I will be there to bring in the new year Dec 31. The house and everything should be set up when I get there; boy did I plan this out right..............I didn't have to do crap;;;;;;she did everything. JK, this was the plan and the Good Lord was in total control. BTW, Roll Tide!

Hey Z, don't forget me. I'm right there with you. Friday, 31st, is my off day, so 30th for me also. I'm ready and my wife already has her honey-do list ready. Lol. One more payday after this Friday. Well 2 if you want to count January 7th. But time is flying. Great timing on your retirement move. How did you talk her into that?

The day after your last day you will notice a great weight removed from your shoulders when you don't have to set your alarm clock, it's all good!:D

Hey brooksmd, I haven't forgot you!

It hit me good today when my branch chief announced to our entire division concerning my upcoming retirement.......they are doing a cateraed luncheon for me and my section is throwing me a surprized retirement party tomorrow evening. (Yeah someone let it out of the bag, but I will act surprized, lol). My real last day is the 29th as HR has me processing out at 1000 on the 30th. That is the time I turn in my badge, keys, and RSA. What a great feeling! Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas especialy to you. Congratulations...

Your post reinded me that at this time next year, it'll be my turn. Love my job, it's been a great run, but afterall, it's my life and I'm ready to live it without that alarm clock as nnuut reminded us about. It's not the getting up, it's having to plan your days around your 8 hours of work...lol.

Good Luck!

Your old VLM....HAHAHAHA!

I contrived to work the 24th and the 31st, my last day. Thus the check on Jan 10th will have two holidays, a Sunday, many night shifts and few deductions. If they give us a little bonus time in there somewhere, all to the better.

The hardest thing has been using NO LEAVE and working EVERY shift this whole year, plus filling in for others, plus working outreach for comp time, plus OT for tropical storms. I'm tired, man.

Only 2500 + days for me.

We have a guy retiring 31 Dec also. 38+ years. Hmm...let's see...(5x.015)+(5x.0175)+(28x.02)x high three average salary=...damn CSRS people.;)

You all have a great holiday and even greater retirement!

Please think of the rest of us once in a while when you wake up and think "damn, I don't have to do anything today if I don't want to".

regards

I put the kabash on any retirement lunch/party. Let my co-workers know I appreciated the thought and enjoyed working with them, but didn't want or need any recognition. Besides I didn't want the obligatory photo ops with management that I have absolutely no respect for. Just allow me to quietly slip away into retirement bliss and start drawing another retirement check. Yeehaw!!! :D
