Course Correction - Newbie Here

Good Afternoon All.

After noting my dreadful PIP for the year, I have decided its time to get serious about my money and was referred to this site by a coworker.

I have been a federal employee for 6 years, in my 40's and probably wont retire for another 20. Would like to start maximizing that time to its fullest.

I have lurked and read but I frankly have no idea what ya'll are talking about most of the time so I am here to learn!

I appreciate all and any advice!

well for starters, usually when i say i think the market is going to go up it really means it is about go down.
