coolhand's Account Talk

Good stuff, CH! I don't show my appreciation often enough, but pieces like this and your blog information add greatly to my decision=making capability. Thanks!

The links provide a good overview of what's going on out there (and there's quite a bit), but of course it all needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Thanks for stopping by, it's always nice to hear from you. :)

He's obiously not making his analysis lightly and he does use some historic reference. It's very difficult to project something like this, but the idea that we may lose our status at some point as the world's reserve currency is not without basis. The article from fedsmith I posted a couple days ago talked about the fed government "borrowing" money from our TSP G fund. That's not without precedence as he stated, but it's always been paid back. But will that always be the case?

What bothers me is folks who've typically been even-toned and level-headed are raising more concerns than before. Or at least it seems that way to me.

Double-dip in housing is now being anticipated after today's home prices report.

That's not making things any easier moving forward. :worried:

Now, that's scary stuff right there! Probably will happen at some point, but hopefully not as soon as he's calling for it (this year)...

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham has noodled with legislation to require an energy standard that includes nuclear energy (like that produced in his home state) along with renewables. Indiana Sen. Dick Lugar has floated what he calls a "diverse" energy standard.

...Mr. Obama... He'll lure Republicans into negotiations, then cement their support with lavish energy pork for their home-state nuclear, clean-coal, wind, biofuels and solar projects.

Cant do anything about RINO Grahamnesty, you SC people need to oust him ASAP.

We are watching! We are voting!

As I mentioned in my last blog, the seven sentinels issued an unconfirmed buy signal yesterday. Given today's weakness along with this market's long term bullish resilience this could be a buying opportunity. However, since NYMO did not hit a new 28-day trading high I can't confirm this buy signal, which makes this a riskier play. I will not be changing the allocation for the 7-sentinels on the tracker without this confirmation.

There's still several hours of trading to go, but this is feeling less and less like a short term buying opportunity.
