Joe Biden made headlines by talking about a “generated crisis” for President Obama. But is the current financial meltdown another “generated crisis?” Why did this crisis suddenly occur only six weeks before the election? Is it just a coincidence that it occurred at a time when John McCain was leading in the national public opinion polls and appeared to be on his way to a November 4 election victory?

Canadian borrowers are fast approaching a day of reckoning.

Lured by cheap money to buy up, buy in, expand and make over, families have pushed credit levels to a record high.

Now, mortgage rates are beginning to creep up and the Bank of Canada is poised to retreat from the record-low interest rates it adopted to fight the recession and spur recovery.

The end of the free-money era has left consumers more vulnerable than ever, and those who threw caution to the wind could soon face costs they can't handle.

The action so far this morning is encouraging in that we didn't get too much follow-through downside pressure from Friday. But that could change if it gets too bullish. I think we may see at least one more shot to the downside so I'm waiting before I make any moves.

You may be right CH
I am considering popping the other 50% but with the potential of a little more downside action maybe I hold my position for the moment for some cheaper shares. Tough to call right now.

I think we also have to keep in mind that this is still a bull market and that the last seven sentinels sell signal saw very little downside action. Very little. So I'm not looking for a deep decline at the moment, but we'll have to watch how it plays out.

Chances are we get a sell signal today from the Seven Sentinels (barring an intraday reversal). So far this is more weakness than we had with the last sell signal. With 2 weeks to go until May and only one IFT left I am going to ride this weakness with the 50% I have in S and look for an entry for the other 50% that's in G. If we were within a week of the new month I might play it differently. I think we need to be patient with this weakness though, and see whether the dip buyers are rewarded or burned. We should know by the end of the week.

I was thinking the same thing. I am also 50% S. S is getting hit hardest today. Tempted to buy the dip today but will wait and see if we will get the buying on the dip.

Well I put in another 25%.... waited till the last possible
second to do it. Market seemed to be inching down, so I'm
hoping for a continued sell off the rest of today.

I'll be the "test case" for your quote above!!!

Damn noon deadlines....

:) To all those of the MB,
Aloways appreciate your insights, There is a lot to consider:
Good generally market,
Wall St. shakers,
Mother Nature raining on Europe (stay away from I fund?),
10 trade days left in April,
I am going to ride the volcano storm out and stay S-100%,
I googled the volcano and it's eupted for many moons in a row before?
IFT's gone, pray hard but keep a watch out for things to get too crazy.
 DB
