Did I tell ya the story about the people in front of me at the check out line at Walmart buying STEAK with their food stamp card. Know were I was going after Walmart? To the store that had a sale on ground chuck for $1.59 a pound. It was all I could do to not lose my temper.
This is the third time in 7 years I have had to endure this.
While my family is saving and making good choices the folks that receive aid squander it living the high life.
Wal-mart destroys the American Economy, hurts consumers with lead-filled chinese products. Their employment practices harm you as a taxpayer by requiring employees to obtain health care from state taxpayers, and depresses wages.
There, I got that off my chest.
Just one mid-size store costs taxpayers nealry half-million dollars a year!
Your tax dollars pay for Wal-Mart's greed
The estimated total amount of federal assistance for which Wal-Mart employees were eligible in 2004 was $2.5 billion. [The Hidden Price We All Pay For Wal-Mart, A Report By The Democratic Staff Of The Committee On Education And The Workforce, 2/16/04]

All of those taxes and credits are available to anyone with low income. Anybody getting minimum wage is getting all those taxes and credits. I don't see how WalMart is unique in getting those benefits. If WalMart was destroyed, all those employees would probably work in a similar setting for some other place. The same taxes would be dished out to those people.
