Well, the BCS is better than the coaches polls. These coaches all have agendas. They aren't watching teams game films they don't play against, so how do they know how good a team is?
 
The one thing I just dont get is how the rankings actually reflect the best teams. If a big ten team looses a game they drop 10 spots in the rankings. If USC loses one, they drow 2 or 3 places. There is a lot of bias in the rankings. Thats why we need a real playoff system. The current system is broken.
 
I know it's a distant memory by now but the BCS game was a disappointment. The commentators were SO bad, my friends and I shut off the volume and tuned into ESPN radio to listen to Herbstreet and Corso call the game. The officiating was horrendous too. Referees have the power to completely ruin a game with their calls and 'reviews'. Part of the reason why I like College over pro besides not having to see the long hair coming out of the helmet, is the referrees usually let the players play the game. In pro, every incomplete pass is pass interference.

Oh well, that's a wrap.

This was one heck of a QB class this year. You really have no idea how these guys are going to do in the league. The first hit Tebow takes from a maniac like Ray Lewis (in 2 years) when he tries some QB sneak play will have him seeing stars. Running QB's don't last long in the pros. Another major difference is most of these guys operate out of the shotgun where pro is two step drop and a frozen rope downfield. I also believe that a lot of these guys have no idea what it's like to play in the cold weather when they play in the SEC and Big 12. That's one advantage the Big 10 has in projecting players. It's like when guys say there's no difference between hitting with a wood bat and aluminum bat. Yeah, and there's also no difference between playing in 20 degrees and 75 degrees right?

I disagree with the AP poll having Utah ranked second. Teams in the SEC and Big 12 are putting up every single week, they don't have the luxury of playing a UNLV, Wyoming, Air Force, Utah State or San Diego State in any of their division games with a non division game being against Weber State. But they beat Alabama, I guess that's the real feather in their cap.

It was a great season. I'm not losing sleep over a national championship playoff either. It is what it is and frankly, I'm tired of hearing people complain about it.

1. Florida
2. Texas
3. USC
4. Oklahoma
5. Utah

Heck of a season guys, heck of a season.
 
Oh Yeah..Hey Texas, you had better get ready for a thrashing like you have never seen..in the Cotton bowl... That 45-35 score will be your only good memory you'll ever have left..The banner you fly next year will be; RIP TU..... Oh, and you can still call it neutral turf if you want, even if it is in Dallas.

In local News, Sam hasn't decided yet and rumours has it that he may stay on through his Junior year to do just what you said Pill..To see the Sooners through a NCAA Championship..And If he does stay..Next year is very doable for OU.

I hope he stays to grow a little more...:)
 
I would hardly say he is a bust. Strongly disagree, either he stays and heads for another big 12 championship, and national championship or he ends up a success in the Big Show!

Either way he is hell of an athlete, but time will tell.
 
Congrat's to Florida for their fine playing. They were the better team and it showed. OU is starting to be the Susan Lucci of NCAA football. Always going and never winning.
 
It was a good close game..very well matched teams..Both should be proud to have closed the year out on that playing field..

Love how the BCS people claim there isn't a good way to do a playoff, but in every other football league America there are playoffs to determine the champion.

"Amid all the controversy about college football and the upstart University of Utah football team, they played the so-called "BCS Championship game" Thursday night in Miami and afterward crowned the University of Florida national champs.

Led by former Utah coach Urban Meyer, the Gators defeated Oklahoma 24-14 to lay claim to the title — at least as far as the BCS is concerned. Now if they could just convince the rest of America.

If points are awarded based on style and performance — and they are in the weird world of college football — then both of these teams were outshined by Utah's brilliant Sugar Bowl performance. Neither of those challengers for the national title produced the methodical, business-like performance that the Utes exhibited in the Sugar Bowl.

There was one other problem with last night's championship game, of course: Utah wasn't in it.

Only in college football could the lone unbeaten team in the country be sitting at home watching the championship game on TV like the rest of us."
 
Yeah this is getting a little one sided, therefore it means all the more that OU has a real chance. I just want a high-scoring, passing-shootout with an ending that requires a touchdown for victory in the final ticks.

ESPN's Lee Corso thinks Florida is going to win the game. If that's the case, then it's almost a shoe in that OU wins the Championship.

Our office is going nuts here in Sooner Country.

ESPN stir's up so much controversy trying to tell us that Florida has already won the game. Wouldn't you love to see the Sooners up 30-3 at the halftime. Then the announcing crew bring on Mack Brown to say his Texas team is #1. LOL
