Madoff, wow. I was at a gym working out when that all went down. What was it, mid-2008 or so? Anyway, this one guy was completely in the dumps about losing a ton of money in the market. I somehow got into the conversation and just said it's not so bad man, it might take a while but the market will probably come back. (I honestly didn't think it was any time soon though.) Another guy in the conversation said, he had most of his money invested with Bernie Madoff. It sounded like his advisor somehow put the money in with Madoff as a seeder fund. When the news broke I figured it was just a few people that got hit, but it was at that point I realized how many people's lives were affected by this man.
