As a musician is my 40s, I can only say Prince had such a profound influence on my generation. He took the best of everything before him and made himself unique and inspirational.

I remember many years ago, I was in church playing guitar during a worship session. I was lucky and was often given much leeway to take myself where I was led.

About 20 minutes into this intense worship session I realized I was playing the chords to Purple Rain.

I went with it, I never question what I'm led to do...

Speaking of Prince's guitar chops he finishes this famous tune showing off, because he can. Steps up front stage (3:26) starts a ripping amazing solo, finishes and casually dumps the Fender tele' over his head, walks off stage like it was just another gig. Flamboyant talented musician. RIP.

Unreal...Amazing talent. I remember hearing of how many songs he wrote for others (big names) in the music business..I never cared for his own style of music..but hey, he was a legend, just the same....MTV would not have been as popular had it not been for Prince....RIP.
