Cactus' Account Talk

This sucks, I had to redo the whole thing a week ago, they blocked me for no good reason. Now making it harder to IFT!

Everyone needs to call and complain to the helpdesk. When email authentications were taking 20min, I called and told them; now they're almost instant. Need to ring their phones off the hook. They don't know their customers!!!

I live in a NIMBY community that has no cell phone towers nearby. As a result I only get one bar of cell strength, if I'm lucky. This is going to be a big problem for me. And what about people that don't even have cell phones? My parents are in that category. They've just created yet another reason for me to transfer out of the TSP. Grrr.

Is anybody else having trouble getting into their TSP account lately?

My validation code email took almost 3 hours to get to me yesterday at work. That is typical (and useless). I am trying from home this morning and it hasn't shown up at all. It used to get here in seconds. TSP and inadequate two-factor authentication is making my account access impossible. Looks like I'll be pulling my money out of their crappy system when I retire.

I performed an IFT today. Everything seemed good to go. I do use my phone for the two-factor authentication though...

Thanks for the feedback. I gave up on using the internet and used the automated phone menu. So far that still works for me.

So, is anyone else locked out of web access to their TSP account now. TSP has my number but they never call it when I select validate or even send a message to my validated email accounts. Now email is no longer an option and I am locked out. Typical inept government operation. TSP is such a PITA.

Fortunately the phone menu still works for now. Will have to look at moving the bulk of my money out before TSP breaks that as well.

They seem to make it more and more difficult to make a transaction. What's up with that?

Wow, the S Fund underperformed the C Fund by over 16% this last year. It has never been so much less since we got the S Fund in 2001.

It looks like inflation pressures are hitting the small caps hard. It will be interesting to see if that continues this year. I suspect it will. Smaller companies are hit harder with the rising cost of borrowing money.

Not sure where I heard this, but a few years ago, I recall reading or hearing that the Small Caps will drop before the S&P 500 when we are moving in cycle towards a bear market. Maybe someone else knows more and can clarify on that. I am not saying we are entering a bear market, but I understand there is rotation that starts to occur. Best Wishes to you in the 2022!

I've heard that too DB. the theory being small caps are more sensitive to negative (downward cycle) environments and pivot more quickly.
