Bquat's Account Talk

I guess I'm back in my bear and hesitant type mode. Didn't think the 20 Day would break. Seems like bad news is good news. Was expecting a drop after retails came in lower than expected. I guess everything is baked it and a rise of interest rates being delayed is more important to the market than earnings. So pushing the 50 Day now and still stuck in my mindset. So see how tomorrow goes.

So a little embarrassed on missing bigger gains.:embarrest: Yet, I'm still making small gains in the F fund.:) Maybe need to re-think the protection mode I'm in. This time of year just makes me nervous. Thinking partial entry if 50 Day breaks.:suspicious:

Embarrassed?

MTD you've made half the gains, with very little exposure to the markets risk, in the process, avoiding a 3% pullback

Go back to your last IFT and you made .76% while C-Fund lost -.59% & S-Fund lost -.10%

Everyone thinks the grass is greener on the other side, they just use more manure :D

Thanks, I know I missed the loss but I want to catch the move up also. I said little embarrassed and now a little less.:)

I did not have the longer term line that JTH had on his chart. I've added it accordingly::) And if you're still around, why the move from F to G. Do you expect it to follow stocks down also?

This is an interesting exchange you guys just had. I catch myself thinking like Bquat. It seems our brains have been rewired over the last 2 years to think the equity funds continue to go straight up. Being "in" and holding strong was definitely the way to go. When will we have to "re-learn" the usefulness of occasionally protecting our assets? We shouldn't forget that it will be prudent at some point. Unless, of course, this relentless climb just keeps going.

Hmmm...It's like wild kingdom, where we are the hobbyist prey and we're continually watching out for the professional predator. Or something like that

So, you know how to make me not feel alone.:D Yeah many feel it's better to make gains instead of missing losses or you just don't notice the missed lost as much.

I might be alone in this opinion, but I feel like this market could either cap out today before another steady decline, or either burst off next week.

Yes you are right. It's good to point out both options.:) And don't be posting at the same time as me. It feels a little weird like 1,2,3.. you owe me a coke.:D

It was just that simple, I had an extra IFT, an opportunity to lock in the F-Fund gains, while at the same time not wanting to enter CSI.
