Bquat's Account Talk

I go bullish for Monday. 60/40:)

I hope so, buddy. I would have liked to see a little stronger close to above 1363 for confirmation. I also would have liked to see more volume but I am happy the C was on the + side for the day (and I made some money being 60 S and 40 I). If the bulls come in on Tuesday we could see 1400 by the end of the week.

Hope you and yours are well and you have a great weekend.

I have to run now...I hear Birch snorting in the background:laugh:

Good morning my fellow Americans. Mom is having one of her good days, so I am able to visit. I have changed my signature to allow others to see my position in the markets. I realized that with my tracking of my tracker position was getting out of hand. I have noticed an increase of people putting their position in the market in their signature. This is a great heads up and people don't have to go through pages of post to see if we were in or out of the market. I think the quick look is great because I and others watch a few people and it's hard to search for positions in the market of our favorites before the deadline. RMI has really helped with his free system chart but I still have a few individual I watch.

Investment wise I am a little more invested than one in Capital Preservation should be. I have missed a lot of gains in the past and taking more risk. I still think there is a silent QE3 going on and didn't think of copying some comments from others refering to it. When a market doesn't have corrections over 2% once in a while there are no buy signals generated or oportunity for people to enter and they tend to join the rally too late. I myself have missed about 10% of gains by not entering in the S fund sooner. A lot of people have missed gains because of less volitility and watching for the drop. This happened in 2009 also. I missed a lot of gain by being only 50% in earlier. TA is not working and I'm in because of Brian Shannon's "even with low volume, price is the key." I'm taking it as the trend is my friend. Following the trend with an eve out for the drop but it's hard when support is within 2% and resistance is continuing to be broken. A lot of these comments are just my opinion and are not trading advise.Sooo make your own decisions and keep informed to make the best educated quess because that what it is. Best guess makes the gains or misses the loss. We are a team effort on this site. Thanks guys.:)

Bquat, I would like to commend you for taking care of your mom. Also thanks for your valuable posts. I hope you and your mom have a great weekend.

I'm still bullish 60/40:) and remind you of the bullish trend. The longer term chart is from Sep 2011.

Hey Bquat,
Very new to this site. (pretty new to TSP as well as only being a Federal employee for the last 18 months...)
I was perusing the AutoTracker results and going through Blogs.
I hit upon yours and saw a lot of the things I used to do when trading many moons ago.
I hoped I could follow along and glean a little bit of info that you provide as well as the others that contribute to your blog
I wanted to get a little more involved in this account which I could hopefully translate to my other investments...
I understand the IFT rules which makes "diversifying" the funds a little more cumbersome.
I currently sit at 0/15/25/40/20 (G/F/C/S/I) with a YTD of 9.4%

One question....I see where the IFT's need to be made by 12EST to be executed at the end of the session. Does that include today for tomorrow??

thanks and have a good day

Bamafamily

An IFT today will happen at 4 pm EST tomorrow. TSP.gov is closed today.:o Sometimes on Federal Holidays, even if the market is open, TSP will be closed like on the Monday after a holiday happening on a weekend.

bamafamily, welcome aboard. You jumped into a key thread. bquat is one of a few that puts up some great charts. It may seem a bit overwhelming but read as much as you can in these different threads. Some you may want to go back 10, 20 or more pages. Keep asking questions because the folks here are real helpful. Also if you plan to be active start up your own account. That way we don't hijack someone else's. ;) Good luck

bamafamily, think about starting your own member's account in this thread. You will get more responses to your questions.

Sorry guys Mom let me sleep in this morning. Here's the little channel with the new high this morning. Let's have a slow grind upward as we consolidate and build. Not too much trust in the upside right now but not showing weekness either.:)

Couldn't check my balance just now on TSP.gov. So you might want to make your decisions early today just in case. They my just being backloged from making up for yesterday.:(

I was able to get in. It still was a little slow. Maybe there's a lot jumping in.:D Just a joke guys check the tracker in 1/2 hour to see.

Ok early decision because of possible slow login for IFT's. I am remaining in and it looks like high base forming for a push. Just my opinion.:)

FYI I'm staying too.
Even one more hour added to decision time would be nice.:(

I had the flag drawn but it wouldn't have mattered because it formed 5 till 12. Look what we got after decision time.At least my heads up was right.
