The majority of the top of the AT is in the S Fund while the majority of the bottom of the AT is in the G Fund.

Edit: I can run exact numbers on these if there is any interest in it.

... while the majority of the bottom of the AT is in the G Fund.

That's what capitulating gets ya!

That's why you do not sell at a major loss because you will always recover those losses in due time. But, some folks simply cannot take the bleeding. I do understand that. It can be difficult. But, as I've always said, you just have to turn off the noise... hold your nose... and await recovery if you happen to find yourself far in the hole. For myself, that is a 5% or more loss. If I happen to find myself down 5% or more, I'll simply ride it out. But, that's just me.

BTW, be on the lookout for when those folks in (G) make an IFT into equities. That will be our cue to make an IFT into (G)! :D

Out of curiosity I pulled the Autotracker data into Excel to get some averages. Here they are, as of today:

YTD Return: -5.08%
MTD IFTs: 0.42
YTD IFTs: 3.43
G Fund %: 31.67
F Fund %: 10.16
C Fund %: 22.48
S Fund %: 30.04
I Fund %: 2.23
L Funds all less than 1%

Not sure what happened with the average 2019 return, but its definitely not the shown 41.3%.

Doesn't the Ocean's List do some of this? How many are in which funds, not quite the same, but informative.

Thinking about getting a big sign printed that says "Don't Fight The Fed" and putting it on the wall. Or maybe something smaller like a paper weight so house guests don't stare at it and think I'm crazy.

My brain is wrestling back and forth this morning with the bounceback. I am fully invested. Lost a ton yesterday, big bounceback projected today. Could stay in for the long haul, or get out today to lock in the bounceback while missing any further gains or losses for the month. Almost everyone is saying we are going lower from here. Decisions!
