bmneveu's Account Talk

Now I'm thinking of taking some (all?) off the table. If today holds around 1% then I have made about 3% on this trade so I like being greedy but....

Main factor I am considering is that we are only up 1%. I think if there was anything that could have had liquidity pour back into the markets it is the Trump Xi agreement...even if it is just a push of the "pause" button on tariffs then we should be higher than this.

Combine those thoughts with being at or near overhead resistance (C - 2810; S - 1364... but those are just my guesses) I am seriously looking at repositioning.

What in the hell happened today? Last I checked the Dow was down 500 points. Came to see the final score and it ended positive. LOL

It seems we have some interested buyers- at least we did later in the day.

Which is a good sign.

I am almost 100% sure that we still are going lower from here- BUT - the injection of buyers this afternoon was a positive sign for me that we are closer to a bottom than a top.

Cross your fingers- perhaps we may be close to a temp bottom, at least.

Tomorrow is the big Brexit day- and a vote in Parliament. If it turns out bad- we’ll likely head down again tomorrow.

Nothing quite like a roller coaster ride, isn’t it?

I hope we are near a bottom, if today wasn't if for at least the short term. Futures are down almost an hour into their trading but only a little bit. The morning will tell.

Brexit vote delayed. Doesn't sound like the EU wants to renegotiate much so March 29th may be a complete break without any concessions to the EU remaining.

The roller coaster is starting to make me sick...and I'm just watching from the lily pad!

Anyone read Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek? I just finished and wow that book was amazing. About to start this 800 page beast of a tome Principles by billionaire hedge fund manager Ray Dalio. I might have to audio book it if I want to get through it any time soon.

Merry Christmas everyone! I had a great holiday in real life. Terrible in my TSP account though. I went into this quarter around break even for the year, but am now down about 15% as I've been riding it out in the I fund waiting for the Santa rally. Turns out the results weren't there, but I don't think the strategy was bad. I keep telling myself to trust the process, not the results. I'm not going to kick myself for being exposed to the first time the market has ever dropped more than 1% on Christmas Eve or whatever the statistic is. That's an historically statistical anomoly. I'm Birchtree'ing it up, fully exposed and buying more at the beginning of every month.

Ditto. But I am hoping our ________(fill in the blank cause I don't see what is causing most of this drop) is just messed up and this is the start of the rally right now. Check out Toms most recent commentary. I almost always take away good stuff from his summaries but this one is a must read IMO. Just skim over the part about his "Plus" comments so he will, hopefully, drop little gems more often:D

Futures in the red by more than 1% after a 5% up day... shocker! Here comes the volatility. Day/swing trader heaven. Too difficult to time with IFTs so I'm sticking it out.

Need to invest in Smucker's because my kids want to eat like 5 of these Uncrustable sandwiches a day. Brilliant idea. Frozen PB&Js for kids (and Dad snacks too).

Well the Autotracker says I lost 12.73% this year, ouch. Luckily because of contributions, I'm actually only down 7.5% for the year.

Now time to make 19% in '19! Happy New Years everyone.

The DOW just touched +800 points. Holy moly. On pace to be the 3rd highest point gain ever. We need 936.43 points to be the single biggest move up (in points) ever. Might we see our first ever +1000 point gain in 2019?
