Gosh, everywhere I look there are lonely wall flowers needing my special attention: WR, ARP, TWIN, CNQ, JNY, EXP, ELX, VLO. I could actually regain over half of my weekly give back today - especially if the market can take out the +200 zone on Dow points. For me buy and hold works because I'm building an income stream to help with my retirement. Snort.

I think I'm going to start a doubling down position in my I fund by building a base with Vanguard MSCI Europe ETF - VGK. They own the 350 largest companies by market value. Since I'm retired I don't have the benefit of dollar cost averaging my I fund position - so I'll leverage it another way. That should work in the long term.

Well the week turned out better than I had expected. Here is what the oceanic account accomplished: -$35K, -$66K, -$2K, -$9K, +$65K for a devaluation of -$47K. This now leaves me with a devaluation of -$27K on the Month. If the momentum continues next week I should roll ahead with grandiose gains and hope to capture a few more delicate wall flowers.

I'd like to note that the angle of ascent on the June MCSUM looks a lot like January 2012. There are also new all time highs on the cumulative NASDAQ TICKQ and remains in a bullish configuration. I'm waiting on the latest Chinese economic numbers that will be released this evening - they could be a catalyst for an important move up on Monday.

Do I keep my cash in the mix, or hold it in reserve until the first week of November? After bHo gets shown the door the floodgates should open with markets going north in a hurry. Currently 50% in, 50% out. Can't shake that feeling that The Amateur will pull another skunk out of his hat and further spike the economy; hence, my reluctance to fully commit. What say you, my friend?

Because the market is omnipotent it will discount the future and by the time November rolls around we could already be substantially higher - I'm long forever.

The 1375 SPX level is resistance from the 2011 highs - if that goes then 1395 would be next. Keep your eyes on that tricky VIX - when it goes into the 14 level will be the time to get nervous. I think the bears are ready to retreat as the market looks forward to new leadership in Washington.

I don't think we're gonna hit 14 during summer trading Birch, lots of factors out there to keep the nervousness up. This may run to 1390 ~ 1400 then some distribution IMO.

I caught a nice upgrade on my auto-parts stocks today - the rally is encouraging me to DCA into the group. So many wall flowers to rescue.
