Birchtree's Account Talk

I was going to wait for a +200 Dow but money is burning a hole in my pocket. Having flower buying power is the potential to get greedy and I am greedy: BMY, TRW, EP, BDC, WGO, DOW, ELN, EXP, CBI, AIN. Now I will rest until 1500 hours. And if it's still hot I'm back in to throw more dollars into the bottom - this is I believe a bull market correction and nothing more. If I'm right dollars will rack up like playing a pin ball machine.

I hope you're right.

All the market has to do now is take out the Dow at 11,350 and all my criteria will have been met for more buying strength - the bears are singing squeeze me and please me. I'm buying: AME, VHI, ALB, WMB, GMT, KMT, LII, LNT, TRN. It's so nice to finally get an almost 100% green day. My adviser keeps adding to my buy list that never seems to end.

Give me back those lost 140 Dow points from yesterday - please. I have so many wall flowers to accumulate. The ECB is making news for Europe this AM.

Running in front of the Grand Trunk and buying on strength locking yesterday in behind me: ABM, WPZ, TLM, BHI, NL, BPO, MSB, CLP, MTOR, AVY, UBS, STD. Waiting on the Philly Fed to see how the market reacts to this particular news - if OK I'm going to keep on buying into my base while prices are still golden.

The risk is will the market hold today and rally tomorrow - so I run with the bulls: CLC, TWIN, BBT, WFC, BIP, CNQ, AYI, SWK. The more we rally the more I can spend collecting those sweet wall flowers - and it doesn't hurt at 2.75% which is also tax deductable. I just wish the Fed would buy equity indexes instead of dumb bonds - think about what that would do.

If and when the VIX breaks below 33 I'm ready to throw more money down the well. Actually the more I spend the more I can spend when in a bull market. The first week of August my oceanic gave up $470K - I'm now working on getting that back and at the same time trying to build my sacrificial lamb chop account. Margin has its benefits but when the pressure is on you have to be ready to accept some dire pain. My base remains intact and now we'll rock - look up and check the flume.

Thankyou VIX at 32.96. Really with my active discipline buying wall flowers I feel like I'm coming up off the 1982 bottom that no one believed at the time. It was no different in March '09. So I move forward lacking myopic loss aversion and buying: WOR, SIG, CNS, C, TNB, JAH, AEO, RT. That's 120 purchases in September so far. Money is arriving faster than Speedy.

I'm still stuck in my buy mode: CE, JCI, ACI, ALB, HNZ, CSL, MTRN, AVT. If we get a rally toward +200 Dow points I'll be golden for tomorrow. Buying stock is hard work.

I've been busy gathering up more wall flowers while the summer sun shines: BTH, MTW, CSS, BRC, CDI, SHS, KRO, TEX, MCS, UDRL. Don't try this at home.

Friends it takes a life time of disciplined saving to build a portfolio. I'm still adding to my wall flower bouquet: ACC, IT, FLO, MDP, STR, MDS, UDR, UGI. If the VIX gets into the 30 level I'll be back with more flowers.

The oceanic account is slowly on the come back trail: -$2K, +$50K, +$51K, +$60K, -$13K for a grand total of +146K this week. The VIX closed out the day at 30.98 and may head lower next week. I've made 147 individual DCA purchases so far in September - I'd like to do another - oh, as many as I can. One good day on the R2K and I'm into serious money. I'm going to continue building into my base as long as the money keeps coming. I'll look back six months from now and realize son you did the right thing - keep buying them wall flowers because someday they will bloom into roses. Snort.

I read another article over the weekend about the problems recent college grads are having finding jobs - it was enough to make me sniffle. But it is called comeuppance for voting Obummer turd - actions do have consequences. Now it's hope for change. So they'll work around the old homestead until they can vote again in 2012.

I had a cub scout with dad ring my bell yesterday. He was about 6 or 7 in uniform and had a wagon full of stuff. Without thinking I said I wasn't interested. So they went next door. Needless to say I had a second thought and called them back and asked if there was anything in there I coiuld buy for $5 - the answer was sorry no. So I said how about if I make a donation to the cub scouts of $5. That was fine and thankyou very much - have a nice day. Boy, did I feel better after that.
