Birchtree's Account Talk

I was wondering if you guys have watched Good Morning Vietnam or if it was too difficult to sit through it. If watched, what was your opinion of the film?

I would say it was a resonable facsimle of the real deal, and it did conger up both positive and negitive forms of emotion for me. The most difficult thing for me after the war was getting to a point where I could view the Viet Nam Memorial with out breaking down. Just typing this I can feel some of those supressed emotions which I haven't felt in quite sometime, mainly because I haven't thought about those days for quite awhile.

Yes...I am friends with many Vietnam veterans on account of my husband being in a veterans motorcycle club. I can tell that the wounds are as fresh as if it had just been yesterday. I have never met a more protective and close knit group of veterans. It's bittersweet to see how protective they are of each other and how they carry one another when the weight of their experience becomes too heavy. I will always be forever greatful for their/your sacrifices.

It looks like I'll give back my yesterday gains today - so be it. It is a sacrifice I'm willing to make to keep the pressure on my evil incarnate president. The business community is telling Mr. Dim Widdy that his policies stink and he should step down because he lacks credibility. Hope and change is now what we really need. I think because I'm still bullish that I'll buy a few wall flowers today to soothe my pain.

Well now I feel better after doing a little wall flower buying: BDC, NX, RPM, BAS, ABB, UDR, DOW, ELN. I'm listening to Obummer talk about how hard he is trying to boost jobs - I don't believe a word the maggot has to say. He is the epitome of failure. His record will drown him come 2012.

I guess he just was't quite as "shovel ready" for the position of POTUS as the voters believed but now he has a record of all this great experience/success!

Does anyone know what comeuppance means? There is a lot of it coming due for the college graduation crowd. After all they voted for a slogan - "hope and change" and finally reality sets in - they won't find jobs waiting. They should demonstrate in front of the White House because they were duped.

I'm betting this market will straighten out and rally this afternoon so the morning pain is blunted. So many around here seem to have an affliction called myopic loss aversion - to each their own. Many investors miss the fact opportunity missed can be just as harmful to achieving investment objectives in the long term as money lost. No pain no gain.

My sentiments exactly, I have stayed the course the last two years with minor adjustments along the way. I have road the roller coaster over and over again but refuse to get off. I'm doing amazingly well. Made my projected target for the year back and up over $1000.00 of course I could lose it all back today but I'm staying on the roller coaster ride.

Well birch you put your trust in that fickle I fund and down, down you went JTH has nothing to fear from you catching up. Only swingers make it to the top. Ya gotta think like a monkey birch ol pal!

The shovel was ready but no one would buy the shhite he was selling.

Well this week was relatively quiet for the oceanic account - not exactly what I wanted but good enough. Here is what happened: +$5K, +$3K, +$60K, -$33K for a gain of +$35K. So Mindylou and I will take what we can get - perhaps next week will really be hot. Snort.
