Birchtree's Account Talk

Well now I feel like a heel blaming some innocent new member for something out of their control - perhaps they won't see it. Otherwise I'll offer my apology and try to do better next time. It's a good thing I didn't strap on my pearl handles - I'm calmer in my older age. Thanx Tom for your help in resolving this unnecessary situation.

Well they are tanking my ARO today at $18.26 down 3.08 - but no fear I'm still fine with it. Here are my dollar cost averaging buys with number of shares: 500 at $15.60, 200 at $16.04, 100 at $17.35, 100 at $18.14 and 200 at $12.65. So maybe I'll get another chance to accumulate more shares for the longer term. These are random opportunities that pop up from time to time.

It proposes to be a long summer. Here is what my oceanic did this week: -$38K, -$18K, +$67K, +$6K, -$32K for a total devaluation of -$15K. So not as bad as it could have been. June is a big dividend dump month for me so if we continue sideways I'll benefit by buying lower prices. The only question is how much capital appreciation will I have to give back befgore we turn up again. Last year we went into a 16% correction and it hurt to the tune of $660K - but I eventually got it all back and then some. I'll hold the thin blue line of support through the summer. The thought of achieving my $2M goal is slipping away for the moment but things have a way of changing so I'm staying bullish with patience letting my dividend reinvestments do the heavy lifting for awhile.

For the record, it's actually a grey neutral square. The color a new person starts with. I got one too. It just means their rep was still 0. I believe they actually liked what you said.
This newbi also put a no comment rep on to my score on a post of mine...I think he meant support of your's too Birch..:)

Hey, DAMN IF I DIDN'T GET ONE MYSELF!! I'll take all I can get!
It was on 5/19/11
I tried to find a post by Him/Her but none came up, I was going to give him a GREEN ONE!

Yeah, me too, and s/he obviously has good taste because it was a particularly witty comment, top shelf stuff. Has this username made any posts?

Let's go jump it in boys, paint the town green.

Kinda funny about the NewBe...
But, I don't know what you folks are looking at...

Like Birch, if a chap wants to scud me let the thing land in my thread - or the thread I'm hijacking:p

Birch, you crafty 'ol bugger... I see you trimmed S and went 80 I. I may go with you on that one. The I has gone down sharply so I suspect we shall see a real sharp bounce soon. I'll check prices just before noon.

This down side is just more of the usual nonsense - it'll turn out to be healthy. No fear here at this point and I do have four dividends due today. June is a big month for my dividend reinvestments so bring on the pain - I'm building income for my better days ahead.

Hopefully there's not a huge FV today, that'll make it a beautiful day to jump in and take a swim in the I pool.

As a long term investor I'm hoping the month of June will offer up some nice price values. As of this morning my oceanic was light $301K from early May but my asset base remains intact and will stay that way - no selling out of fear. If I didn't have about 75 dividends to do some heavy lifting in June I might be inclined to raise some cash as a small sacrifice to buy those cheaper wall flowers offering higher yields. But for now I'll just ride this wooley beast and enjoy some pain - no pain no gain. Is the current consolidation a buying opportunity - step up and find out. Snort.

I'm trying not to take any profits during this current consolidation because I know a rebound is lurking and it will be a serious move upward - nothing fundamentally has changed and a slower economy means a longer bull market. This is a classic situation where patience is a virtue. My sacrificial lamb chop account is on guard in the shadows incase this market punishes me like it did last year to the tune of a 16% correction. But I really don't think we are headed that deep. So I will wait until this storm passes.
