Birchtree's Account Talk

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Allah Akbar - if we could do another 500 points at 1500 hours that would really shake the shorts silly. Those roaches would be scrambling like I am to buy in only they loose money the higher we go and I make the dime.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

If I didn't make over $100K today I'll have to vote for Nobama and beg for a liberal handout.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

SO LET ME UNDERSTAND if you made less then 100K U will vote for Obama

After the speech today he is a lock. Even you would be proud to vote for him

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Sorry, I'm mendacious and the thought of Nobama makes me want to run toward my puke pail.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

The biggest surprise for the majority would be for a day to day advance in the face of all the gloom and doom. We now need another 9 to 1 up day to confirm the greatest bullish potential and significance. This may happen in the next few weeks - if it does we may have a new leg of the bull market. I think I may spend $50K tomorrow.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Yesterday was a $139K day - and I'm buying banks today, actually DCAing my previous bank purchases.

Birch,
The butler is heading to my secret cellar - where the most priceless vintage bottles are stored. This evening we'll celebrate your victory as we fly around the world in my new luxury jet. Have decided to toast each other as the world cities come into view; for now the world is ours. :D

Re: Birchtree's account talk

I just finished making 30 individual stock purchases and now I will cool my jets until 1500 hours and see what happens - if we make another run I plan to buy 10 more wall flowers in the banking sector.

Do you own any dry bulk shippers?

I picked up a few hundred shares of Genco (GNK) at $18. Its paying out a 24% dividend. has a whopping 3 ttm P/E! Has $9 cash per share. Its beaten down from $80 just a couple months ago. I like the upside and the dividend payout assuming it continues to pay it out.

Also love these Alternative fuel plays....Boone Pickens is loading up on Chesapeake and hes an Oil tycoon.

FSYS under $25, TAN under $13 and WPRT under $4...These are all buy and keepers IMO

In Biotech I bought 2k shares of Arena Pharma (ARNA) from $3-4 per share. Lots of great drugs in its pipeline. One in stage 3 FDA. It has a strategic alliance with Merck to assure long term success. Insiders are buying!

Lots of great long term buys here. Im a trader but these are my buy and holds.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Would you adopt me? I'm real likable. I enjoy fishing. I know you are marrying off your daughter.
I'm first in line Greg...back off!...I'm behind his wife, daughter, nephew, cousin, dog, then me....then you!!!!!!

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Okay! So, I am totally a newb when it comes to this; please bear with me. I see people buying individual shares of X, Y, and Z. I only assume this is through their non-TSP accounts, right? (Shakes head in utter embarrassment)

Re: Birchtree's account talk

yes, they do mix in talk of purchases of individual stocks and ETFs through their own brokerage accounts as well as talk about TSP funds.

No need to be embarrassed, I sure asked my share of embarrassing questions and still do. :D Yes, alot of us have separate brokerage accounts along with our TSP account. Main strategy is to at least get the 5% TSP match, then max out your ROTH's, for example and then back to TSP, then other accounts. It all depends on your individual situation.

First there are no dumb questions here.

CB is right in that you should have at least 5% in to get the matching 5%. I would go as high as you can. I started with 15% (with their matching 5%) came out to 20%.

Hopefully you will see it as a long term Retirement Account and it will build up fast. Remember as long as you invest less than the maximum allowable - each payday they will match 5%.
