Birchtree's Account Talk

Re: Birchtree's account talk

There's a reason we have moderators. Believe me, I hung out with Nam Vets 10 years older than me back when I was 18-22. They got as raunchy with their jokes on our study breaks as you can imagine. I knew it was a test, being the only girl in the room, and didn't let it phase me, just smiled. Thing was, they didn't make it personal and below the belt the way Birch did today. I don't have anything to prove as far as being a sissy, Birch was just plain out of line and hostile as far as I'm concerned. Anything I've said to him up to now has been in the spirit of good fun and friendly disagreement over how best to achieve our mutual goals. And I've asked honest questions, being willing to learn from him on investing issues I have limited knowledge of. So coming into the playground with a machine gun firing at the only girl on the playground was uncalled for-and encouraging the other guys to laugh at the damage was just as bad.

Oh, and I forgot to thank the moderator and Tom. Thank you.

You are not the only woman who was mowed down by his uncalled for comments. Read my thread to see a mild version of what he was saying about you and sugar&spice. Where I can take care of myself as it pertains to Birch's comments (I have worked with a lot of, dare I say dinosaurs with 1950/60 insensitivies when it comes to women, I was shocked and offended by his comment in Buster's thread. Truely tasteless. I have to wonder if he or any of the men on this board would have said that to a woman he worked with?

malyla,

I'm going to go read your thread becasue I don't know what comments you are talking about that caused all this uproar. Did I mention ear muffs - no. Did I mention anything about clothespins - no. I was talking about butterflies and cumulonimbuses.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Holy Crap!..My apologies ladies if I was offensive in anyway..I am crude ans rude sometimes, but never do I intentionally try to disrespect the fair maidens I hold so dear for my reason to live...Sappy I know, but I do love the fairer sex.;)

Re: Birchtree's account talk

malyla,

You must be referring to the term puerile and you are correct on the definition. I used the term today in reference to myself and never toward Alevin. You are obviously in an irrational panic reading too much press. Puerile means nothing more than imature or childish behavior - nothing below the belt there. Now if I had used the term fatuous that would really be offensive but I only use that term for my very special adversaries. The posts were censured for completely different reasons - there was no name calling or profanity, only imagery. I was discussing the inside secret of how to handle a petulant Independent. Nothing more than that. Every conservative knows that secret and most liberals shy away. Everytime I tell my wife the kitchen is on fire she says let it burn I'm not moving.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

petulant

Main Entry: pet·u·lant Pronunciation: \-lənt\ Function: adjective Etymology: Latin or Middle French; Middle French, from Latin petulant-, petulans; akin to Latin petere to go to, attack, seek — more at feather Date: 1598 1 : insolent or rude in speech or behavior 2 : characterized by temporary or capricious ill humor :

I had to look that one up myself..

Re: Birchtree's account talk

alevin,
Well will you accept my apology if I promise to be more sensitive in the future. ...today was only a water pistol offense.

"...ONLY a water pistol offence?" Birch, you still don't get it. Until you do, I'm gonna ask your wife to make you sleep on the couch. Might be a long time. Ask her how she'd have reacted if it'd been her. Wifebeaters say "Honey I'm sorry I put a bruise on your arm, I said I'm sorry, can I come home now?" too, you know.:notrust:

Peace, let's move on, just think a LOT harder next time about where you are before you chime in. I could've handled it if we'd been face to face around a campfire with a small group of friends. This isn't a campfire.

And Buster, I'm not smacking you, Birch made the mess, he needs to clean it up. Just pay attention. Your wife, girlfriend, mother, sister, daughter will thank you.

alevin;171632And Buster said:
No wife, several GF's, Mother passed on, no sisters, only brothers...and I have always used protection..;)..I think, there was this time back in 79...oh never mind, that kid would be out of child support age anyways now..

Re: Birchtree's account talk

alevin,

I'm really sorry that my indiscreetness caused your indignation - but Gee don't you live in the real world. I really still don't get it. Please pm me and straighten me out so I can sleep tonight. I feel terrible - I've never had this happen before and I'm still lost as to what I did wrong.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Wow! Begging for a pm. To straighten it out no less. Why Birch? And he would never show his wife the stuff he says to females here.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Frankly my wife would certainly understand - she is far from prudish. We actually have hall sex most mornings. She married me because I'm nasty on occasion - well more often than on occasion. Viewership is up this evening thanks to you fair ladies. Geesus, I'm certainly lucky you girls didn't get me banned. I hope to hear from alevin with her specifics.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

A real big run in the transports todasy +257.95 or a 5.54% gain to 4915.51. If this type of momentum persists we'll be at new all-time highs in no time. We need another Dow Theory confirmation to pull more freah capital into this rally.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Buster, I'm going to start calling you Denozo and act accordingly. Watch out, you won't see it coming. :D

On the other thing, I'm considering it.....there might be some hope after all. Got to eat something and think about it.

.
Let's go with Tony..and may I refer to you as Kate?

ya know, there was a strong attraction there...;)

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Well I guess that means no pm with the specifics. I'll live for another day. It should be remembered that if you want to slip on those tight Matador pants and come after Ferdinand it would be advisable to first purchase some disability insurance. The Bull is a smell the flowers type but those horns can do untold damage. I've been blindsided more often than not - part of being an investor. I get run over by trains and always survive feeling more refreshed. Good that you came back. I may not be able to figutre it out but perhaps someone else has.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Sheesh, I said I was going to eat something and think about it. Where did I say "Not on your life?" It really IS dinner time where I'm located.

Sure...Tony. Remember I'm a lady or the romance is over :). I need to figure out what I'm going to say in my PM to Birch. He was sincere, but then he couldn't resist throwing in the negative adjective. wish he could just have a straight conversation without throwing in negative adjectives. Makes for a much happier and more honest conversation.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

I decided to stay out of this one. My thinking was these guys got their selves in trouble, let them work their way out of it. NO NO, I wasn't going to bail them out, it worked out well. This kind of stuff usually happens on a big down day, I've seen everything now!:worried: Good Trading! View attachment 4286
