Birchtree's Account Talk

Alfie, what's it all about? Another give back week for the oceanic but no panic yet: -$35K, +$31K, -$9K, -$68K, -$88K for a devaluation of -$169K. At least I'm getting some purrfect pricing with my dividend reinvestments - that's the small blessing of this head fake to the down side. Gotta watch Kudlow tonight.

Be careful Birch. Its starting to add up to real money. What did he say?

Norway's Statoil (STO) signed a deal with Russian state oil firm Rosneft to develope Russia's mostly untapped offshore energy resources in the Artic. Finally some good news.

Another tough day for the longs - but I'll just ignore it. The price of oil is -$2.31 to $95.70 - that will help eventually. I'm glad I've got dividend income that keeps on buying. If you panic and cut and run it's a mistake in my opinion.

-- Thanx again Mr. Birchtree for your charting of a reliably steady and knowledgeable course, for your sharing of that. I may not always act on your advice though it is so great to have it there to alway factor in heavily, especially when my situation feel anxious. Your dose of reasoned soundness & hope can help steel the nerves against storming seas.:o

Birch, you may be right, but at what point do you "NOT" ignore it? When you're down 10%? 20%?

with the strong close we had this afternnon, does that mean that the bulls are still in control and things are not as bad as they may appear? just asking...

Indeed...Even better than the article was my man Kevin Marder - some 'stache on that dude!

Mindylou is acting like a fool this morning trying to place orders for more coal stocks - so I bought some more ANR to enhance my pain. Sometimes my investment adviser knows best - she says EPA is going to get a bottom spanking - we just have to be patient.

Wee what a willie wonka week it was for my oceanic account - take a look: +$5K, -$24K, -$23K, +$16K, -$21K for a plow under of -$47K. At least my dividends were doing their best to acquire more stock with these sideways actions which I suspect will continue for another week. What happened to the weeks of getting slammed -$263K - at least the market had my attention with that volatility. I'm not going anywhere so I'll just keep building my base and wait for better days.
