Birchtree's Account Talk

B, what do you make of the gold prices?? Is this trying to tell us something or what? Everyone getting ready for the Aug-Sep "crash" early? You think next week will be a downer (like the last 11 yrs)?

I don't know what will happen next week, but I'll be right in the middle of it come what may. I own 15 one ounce gold coins and have no plans to ever sell them - they are going to be gifts years from now. They were purchased in 1980.

I've been keeping track of my oceanic account activity from the March '09 lows. I peaked at $1294K on week 59 ending 4/23. The low point was at week #65 ending 6/4 at $756K. I'm now at $911K week #67 ending 6/19 - it would seem I'm back on the come back trail. I'm still out $383K as a result of the 14% correction - but patience is virtuous. My goal remains for a $2M gain by the end of week 93 - we'll see if I can achieve that milestone. One of my lamb chop account (sacrificial margin account) stocks was bought out (CXG) and will return about $24K in cash to provide more buying power - hope they hurry up while these prices are still golden. Once I hit $1294 again it becomes gravy buying power the higher it goes up. I think we ramp back up as fast as we came down - in the meantime the dividends are working their magic being reinvested at lower prices building that income stream for my future. I believe today I will make serious money in my TSP account - so it's a hot time in the summer staying long and strong.

Well we just blew out my desire for Dow 10,550 - so let's move to Dow 10,750. Waiting on the VIX to drop below 23.

Birch, What the heck caused the sell off yesterday? The S fund started out like it would be a 2% day and almost didn't recover to keep it under a 1% loss.

If BP tags $28 I'm a buyer again using DCA until it disappears from sight. I don't mind being the lonely buyer of so much sorrow.

I was talking to my realtor from N.C. yesterday and she informs me that land prices are still coming down - the industry is having a difficult time. I need to make another trip and hang around for a few weeks to really judge the pain - not that I want to be a vulture but I am looking for value. There are many summer homes going on the block for sale and sellers are flexible - they can't wait any longer for relief from creditors. Give me Dow 12,000 and I'll be ready to bite.

"Reading the bond market tea leaves is how I come to believe that valuations in the equity market remain relatively depressed. You don't need to see housing moving up to be optimistic, you onlt need to know that the housing market has stabilized."

Has anybody noticed that the hits keep coming for the S fund? And I don't believe they'll stop anytime soon.
