Aviator Guy's Account Talk

I almost jumped out of stocks today, but decided to hold on a little longer… If I see a profit of 5% of my entry date of Oct 26, I will jump out, but I still have a ways to go. Everyone have a happy weekend and good luck with your investments!!:cool:

My wife found a really cool online auction site and you can buy brand new appliances for huge savings if you’re careful. I’m taking a day of vacation in order to pick up two new appliances. We bid on the site, Overstock dot Com and were able to win the bid on two new appliances. We’re saving about 60 percent off the sale price at Best Buy. I’m renting a trailer at U Haul to pick them up at their warehouse in Los Angeles saving another 400 off delivery. I would highly recommend this online auction site as you can save a lot of money in the process.:blink:

Nice! I actually know the guy who started Overstock. His son played on my son's baseball team. I don't know how involved he still is in the company. He seems to always be into new ventures.

Have a good weekend. I'm with you on giving it a few more days. After Thanksgiving looks like the time to take profits. But look who I am telling... AutoTracker #2. :)

Thanks TSPTalk... It's interesting that you know the guy who started the company!!!... My wife and I purchased a really cool Samsung Washer from Overstock a week ago using their auction website and picked up our matching Samsung dryer + Freezer and a camcorder at their local warehouse this afternoon… Their Auction site is way cool in that you name your price and whoever has the highest bid takes home the goodies. I think we only paid like 40 bucks for the Sony camcorder LOL… When you meet up with the guy that started Overstock, shake his hand for me… We saved at least 60 percent off compared to the Best Buy store sale price!!! WooooHooo…:cool:

Is there anyways to be notified when a member makes an interfund transfer so you can make shadow moves? Or do you just have to look at the autotracker moves everyday?

You can setup this site to email you when someone posts to their account, but not all who move their funds around post each move, I know I don’t all of the time. And those that do don’t always post it prior to their move. You can monitor their account posts by subscribing to it.

Moving your TSP funds around must be done by the employee and it’s a manual process. It’s not automatic, nor would I want that personally. I like relying on me, myself and I on moving my TSP funds around. A lot of folks on here post some really cool articles on financial matters. I really like reading the posts from Birch as he has over a ½ million hits on articles!! I get most of my info from my Wall Street Journal online account and watching Bloomberg on the tube early in the am.

Good luck with your account and have a great day!!!:cool:

I’m looking to pull the eject handle on staying with the S fund for the remainder of the month. I’m keeping a close eye on the market. Also, lack economic news Nov 25-30 and low volume also gives me some concern. Maybe eject on the 24th, but still undecided.:cool:

Ejecting into G, I don’t trust Doctor Evil (Really Short Dude in N Korea)… But seriously, if I were sitting on the sidelines, I think this would be a great time to jump in COB… The GDP numbers look good and I feel good long term… I will be jumping back into the pool later this month…:cool:

My wife and I purchased an electric turkey fryer I was really impressed. It was easy to use and the turkey came out Das Gud. Just make sure you don’t trip a circuit breaker when you turn it on. I had to reset mine once after turning on the microwave as it was on the same circuit… LOL:cool::cool:

I’m still sitting on the sidelines in the G fund. The North Korean situation still has me concerned that it’s not over just yet. I want to get back in the S fund before the end of November, but I only have three more trading days to pull the trigger…:blink:

I’m still keeping a very close eye on those crazy North Koreans. I want back in the market, but its really hard for me with this situation. I read this interesting article from CNN in that South Korean Vets are protesting at the lack of a strong military response. The North’s artillery attack was the first since 1953. Plus the torpedo attack that sank the South’s warship has me thinking that this event is brewing and both sides are on a hair trigger.:blink:

The one thing that amazes me is how other countries like the USA reward North Korea when they provoke. I also think North Korea soldiers have a tremendous incentive for invading the South in that they are very VERY hungry. I mean, have you ever eaten at a really good Korean restaurant?? It’s Das Gud…:cool:

I’m moving back into the S Fund COB, trying to take advantage of this possible dip… I feel good being in stocks for December, but the NK situation still has me on the edge… The South Koreans are now saying they don’t plan on rewarding the North with any negotiations or money as they have in the past… The NK’ians went over the line when they killed civilians… This is my primary concern being in the markets… If it kicks off, hang on to your hats if you’re in the market… I think if NK decides to move on SK they will wait until this large joint exercise winds down later this week at the earliest...:blink:…:cool:

Taking my profits off the table after a nice ride up… No major eco news on Mon has me a little nervous too… I’ll jump back in if it goes negative…:cool:

been watching your movements, unfortunately I missed the cutoff Friday to transfer, So my money is still in S till the end of Monday at least... we will see how that works out for me.....

What are your thoughts on C fund? Looks like S & P 500 may be headed back up to towards 1500 in 2011?

I’m pretty confident / Bullish on the Markets short term. My account has a good return YTD, QTD and also MTD, so I decided to take a break. If I see any red before the end of the month, I will probably jump back in. Good Luck with your investing!! BTW, around 100 of our board participants are beating the C Fund YTD and that totally Rocks!!! Way to Go!!!:cool:

I'm tempted to lock some short term profits as well but the VIX and UDN seem to be suggesting a couple more days of upside. Anyway, I couldn't agree more w/ your comment on good korean bbq. Lots of good Korean joints around the DC/Balt area.

I’m moving back into stocks after that great retail report... Best Buy is really getting slammed after a bad report which was a surprise... I decided to move into Large Caps vice Small for the rest of the year and into 2011... Good Luck with your investments...:cool:

Interesting. IT went into F and Aviator_Guy into C, as if the market wasn't confusing enough at the moment.

Do you think the market has already priced in the tax extension or will will see a lift when it does?
