I've only shot one deer, a nice 10 pointer, but I've hit 3 with my truck! No waste there, feild dressed them on the spot, took them to the garage skinned then out and cut them up with a hack saw!! That's not easy you know!!

I usually don’t shoot at anything that cant shoot back, but deer hunting helps control the population and tastes good too!!:cool:

I had a young lady that worked for me one time that was from North Carolina and full Cherokee. And I'm telling you she was all eye candy - hard to look at without getting sore eyes. Aviator, you probably know what I mean.

Guess the Obama Honeymoon might be ending after the S&P 500 drops 25 % in just the first 43 trading days of 2009?!?!? I think his 2nd round of Stimulus just looks like throwing more tax payer money at the problem, but that money will just encourage more irresponsibility. His plan is making a bad situation a lot worse. He got exactly what he wanted, a quick partisan spending bill that does very little to stimulate anything other than special interest. What we need is to inject capital spending into the economy now, not in 2010-2012. Oh well, at least the Democratic majority will now have free access to our federal piggy bank. They now have a blank check. I just hope they don’t drop it and break the bank!!

It looks like the YTD S&P will be down COB 25% in just a little over two months!! I’m now looking for an exit door for myself. As of today, I will be down about 11 % YTD, not good… Good luck with your TSP investing!:cool:

Interesting article on Lockheed this morning… It states they are looking for advice from GM on how to improve their production line??? LOL… Of all of the business executives to pick from, I sure would not be looking at GM as a business model!! Anyway, rumor has it that BHO is going to shut down the F22 Raptor production line in order to pay for his those first 8000 earmarks. I would bet they also scale back the future production of the new F35’s… This would help pay for another 800 Billion more in earmarks (Stimulus part II) I guess??:cool:

Lockheed Bets on F-35 Moving Line to Boost Jet Output 20-Fold
By Edmond Lococo
clip_image002.jpg

March 12 (Bloomberg) -- Dave Abbett is wrestling with a problem at a mile-long Lockheed Martin Corp. factory in Texas: how to raise output of F-35 fighter jets 20-fold in seven years.
Abbett, director of final assembly for the F-35s, will draw on 12 years of management at automakers including General Motors Corp. this month as he starts expanding the first continuously moving production line for fighter jets. The factory will build 20 aircraft monthly by 2016, up from one now.
For Lockheed, success means a chance to increase sales at about twice the estimated growth rate of the Pentagon budget. Failure may put the F-35 in the crosshairs of government planners looking to tame spending in a recession. Lockheed already is facing a decision from U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration by April on whether to end production of its F-22 Raptor fighter.

Sounds like the old Clinton crap - set us back another ten years in military defense capability. I really hate liberal democrats.

S&P raging up around 15% in the last couple of weeks and the Futures are way up after 4th Quarter GDP report of -6.3%??? 4th Quarter Profits -15.5% from previous 3rd Qtr?? It’s the worst Quarterly report since 1953… All futures are up??? LOL… Hmmmmmm, or better yet, WTFO… If you don’t know what that stands for, use your imagination…LOL:cool::cool:

Best Buy is way up, and that’s logical. It’s a great company with good service, at least here in Los Angeles. I just purchased a really nice lap top from them. That was my only big purchase with my tax refunds. The rest was spent paying off my Toyota FJ loan. We’re still focused on paying down debt vice spending.

March 26 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. economy shrank in the fourth quarter more than previously estimated, leading to the biggest plunge in corporate earnings in a half century and underscoring why companies are slashing payrolls this year.
Gross domestic product contracted at a 6.3 percent annual rate from October to December, the weakest since 1982, the Commerce Department said today in Washington. Profits dropped 16.5 percent from the prior quarter, the most since 1953.

GDP was bad, but better then
expected. I guess the masses
believed it would be the worse
GDP since 1853. :embarrest:

Pres BHO fires the CEO of GM??? I guess the President now has the authority to fire anyone they hand out Tax Dollars to? Hmmmmm. Maybe they will change the name of GM to BHO?? I guess he was correct, Yes We Can…

I can’t get that 1960’s popular song about GTO out of my mind... All you have to do is replace the letters GTO with BHO… I bet either Rush or Jay Leno will edit it today!! LOL :cool:

Verse 1:

Little GTO, you're really lookin' fine
Three deuces and a four-speed and a 389
Listen to her tackin' up now, listen to her whi-i-ine
C'mon and turn it on, wind it up, blow it out, GTO

CHORUS:
Wo wo, wo wo wo wo wo
(yeah yeah, little GTO)
Wo wo, wo wo wo wo wo
(yeah yeah, little GTO)
Wo wo, wo wo wo wo wo
(ah, little G-T- O)

Verse 2:

You oughta see her on a road course or a quarter mile
This little modified Pon-Pon has got plenty of style
She beats the gassers and the rail jobs, really drives 'em wi-i-ild
C'mon and turn it on, wind it up, blow it out, GTO

CHORUS:
Wo wo, wo wo wo wo wo
(yeah yeah, little GTO)
Wo wo, wo wo wo wo wo
(yeah yeah, little GTO)
Wo wo, wo wo wo wo wo
(ah, little G-T- O)

(instrumental, in pattern of verses)

Gonna save all my money and buy a GTO
Get a helmet and a roll bar and I'll be ready to go
Take it out to Pomona and let 'em know
That I'm the coolest thing around
Little buddy, gonna shut you down
When I turn it on, wind it up, blow it out GTO

(repeat and fade):
Wo wo, wo wo wo wo wo
(yeah yeah, little GTO)
Wo wo, wo wo wo wo wo
(yeah yeah, little GTO)
Wo wo, wo wo wo wo wo
(ah, little G-T- O

Agree, there's cannot be a U.S. Constitution if this can happen!
Hold on, G20 will soon decide on a one-world-currency (buy I digress).

If BHO wants to fix the Automakers problem - Establish a real energy policy - so the Auto companies know what to build!
This goes back years, before BHO, but regardless, before the US. companies can build anything they have to know the direction the U.S. want them to pursue re: energy - and Detroit only has 1 chance to overridingly re-tool for whatever this energy policy dictates!
Brazil did it, decided ethanol, and got all auto manufacturing there and have built entire infrasturcture around it!

Personally, I think ours should be be Nuclear - not the old 1950s nuclear tech - rather establish a 21st century tech - nuclear with none or very little waste & safe!
Then, Detroit has something to build towards - electric vehicles. I've been waiting for this for 4+ years.
Disagree if you will, on the type of energy, but without a policy, there's no clear direction for the auto makers! Detroit STILL has no direction on what to build! Who's fault is that!

Ethanol is a lousy motor fuel, for several reasons: Disagree!

I bought a hybrid, and I gotta say, it's pretty cool. Takes a little getting used to for this old Alfisti sports car freak.

What about compressed natural gas?
T. Boone Pickens has a plan, you know? :)
I would pay the equivalent of $5.00/gallon just to spite the Middle East.
First, AviatorGuy, apologies for a final post on energy, and need for a policy:

Nuclear, that is electric plug-in vehicles, I'm told, would take about the equivalent of about 3 cents per gallon!
Therein lies this problem! That CHEAP??
This would affect all economics built aroud gasoline/diesel distribution!!

They are looking at ethanol, and Nat.Gas (and other similar fuels) as these would have less impact on the existing distribution architecture and not affect or entirely replace the revenues lost without these processing and distribution networks.

There is the rebuild/restructuing of the electric grid, that is currently basically very poor, and disgracfully degraded - but it is, I believe, already one of the infrastucture upgrades now currently being upgraded in some areas - and much more being planned.
Respectfully, ;)

Finally, a little good news out of Japan... I purchased a new sony laptop, so I did my part...:cool:

Japan’s Factory Output Rises at Twice Predicted Pace (Update1)

Share | Email | Print | A A A

By Jason Clenfield
April 30 (Bloomberg) -- Japan’s industrial output rose for the first time in six months, twice the pace predicted by economists, adding to evidence the worst of the recession may be over.
Factory production climbed 1.6 percent from February, when it dropped 9.4 percent, the Trade Ministry said today in Tokyo. The median estimate of 33 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News was for a 0.8 percent gain.

Is this another glimmer of hope from Japan?:cool:

May 1 (Bloomberg) -- Japan’s economy may return to growth as soon as this quarter as companies increase production in response to inventory cuts and consumer demand shows signs of picking up in some markets.
The economy may expand at an annual 1.2 percent pace in the second quarter, according to the median estimate of 10 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News after a report yesterday showed industrial production rose for the first time in six months and companies predicted increases in April and May.

Das Gud news on U.S. consumer’s confidence! I guess it couldn’t get much worse? LOL I’m looking for a way out of stocks back into F… I might hang on just a little longer.:cool:

May 1 (Bloomberg) -- Confidence among U.S. consumers rose more than forecast in April to its highest level since before the collapse of credit late last year unleashed a financial panic that sent the economy into a freefall.
The Reuters/University of Michigan final index of consumer sentiment rose to 65.1 from 57.3 in March, the biggest gain in more than two years. The index reached a three-decade low of 55.3 in November.

Japanese markets are on a holiday, but the others had another nice gain.:cool:

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index gained 2.3 percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index climbed 3.8 percent even as a 25-year-old Mexican was confirmed as the city’s first swine flu patient. Taiwan’s Taiex index jumped 6 percent after Goldman Sachs raised its recommendation on the island’s equities to “overweight.” All markets in Asia advanced.
