Apple

Bill Gates Foundation sold off all shares of AAPL in recent quarter. Half the shares were sold in Q1 so the writing was already on the wall. With his current situation though, the reason for any sells is not certain, and could be simply settling his estate.

it really is... switching gears, any thoughts on the new M1 iMac? I think they are going to fly off shelves.

Cash is cash. A stock holding is not cash. Only exception is perhaps a money-market ETF.

I wonder if Bill Hwang used ARKK as a "cash" position.

Obviously. What she means is, she uses the position as a short term retreat until the next opportunity presents itself. She does not invest in AAPL longterm or to make a ton of money with it.

Apple listened to its most loyal customers and fixed its laptop problems from the last five years

KEY POINTS

Apple’s new MacBook Pro models, announced on Monday, conspicuously lack many of the least popular features from the 2016 design.

They include ports for connecting cameras and displays, and the return of Apple’s MagSafe charger for laptops.

There’s no Touch Bar touchscreen on the new Macs. It’s replaced by traditional function keys that can control screen brightness, media playback, and a big escape key, which is important for programmers.

Some updates on the chip situation from their latest report.

We had about $6 billion in supply constraints and it affected the iPhone the iPad and the Mac. There were two causes of them for Q4. One was the chip shortages that you've heard a lot about from many different companies through the industry, the second was COVID-related manufacturing disruptions in Southeast Asia.

COVID disruptions have improved materially across October to where we currently are. And so for this quarter, we think that the primary cause of supply chain-related shortages will be the chip shortage.

AAPL is not the only one supporting government help the chip production. This bill really should be the focus and not the bloated trillion dollar bill we keep hearing about every day.

We also support the CHIPS Act and the investment there to put more investment in the ground. And so, we're spending some time advocating for the CHIPS Act as well.

AAPL has begun pushing out their new M1X chips.

Just last week, we introduced the completely re-imagined MacBook Pro, powered by the extraordinary M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. These are our most powerful notebooks ever with game-changing performance and battery life and the world's best notebook display.

I bought a lot of AAPL today. The M1 chips are amazing, and the macbook pro should have amazing profit margins because of it. They jacked the price tag on those way up. Also, the new $330 price point iPad is FLYING off shelves.

I think laptop, desktop, and ipad sales are going to shoot up. Hopefully the chip shortage doesn't hold that back too much.

Apple’s iPhone Successor Comes Into Focus

Apple is developing augmented reality smart glasses that could be sold as soon as late 2022. This could be the next Iphone for the company and is their own step into the competitively growing market. The current top product is Microsoft's HoloLens 2 headset that sells for $3500.
